I see you used the famous Orion triplet apochromat! Great choice. Why? Take it from an old geezer like me: the background sky is always darker using a refractor. I speak from experience. I used to have a Celestron 4" fluorite doublet refractor (amazing optics!!). Later I purchased my orange tube C11 Schmidt-Cassegrain. What I find remarkable is that when observing the Saturn nebula in Aquarius, these ring like ears of the nubela were always clearly seen with the refractor, but I never saw them through the C11, in spite of its huge aperture. The quality of the contrast can make quite a difference when observing or photographing some deep sky objects. If my novel becomes a success, I plan to get the Takahashi 6" TOA - 150B. Expensive but well worth it. Live long and prosper!

Thanks for another great video. I enjoy the fact that you take time to explain things in enough detail to be comprehensive but not overwhelming.

I really enjoy your videos man! Your choice of words and presentation of your process is top notch! Would love to see some processing videos from you thought, I'm curious as to how you work when combine the RGB data with Ha Oiii data. Personally, I just bought my Optolong enhance and living in Bortle 9+ area. I'm anxious to test my new gear out soon :)

I love imaging the Dumbbell nebula as it's always a target I return to to try & get that bit deeper each time, nice image & clear skies!!

Great stuff! That L-extreme sure did the trick, especially with the OIII, really nice. Dumbbell's on my list for the summer, kinda small in the RASA, but some of the outer shells you captured would really increase the size. Clear skies!
@AstroParkAstrophotography2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Nick! Since I was able to pull out the outer shell with five hours of exposure time with my scope, I'm sure you'd be able to do it in half the time with your RASA. I hope you get a chance to try out M27 before the season winds down!

I actually did a workout before filming this video. So even though I didn't do 100 curls, my arms were still on fire, lol!
