Very nice Jellyfish image, that's one I haven't captured yet. I've been doing astrophotography for a few years now and this year my goal is to be all in on dark nebula. The Dark Shark and the Anglerfish nebula are high on my list of targets, though I'm sure I'll revisit a bunch of old favorites. I'm lucky to live in a Bortle 4 region and can get to Bortle 3 areas with very little travel, I'm looking forward to a great galaxy season as well, which I suppose is already upon us. Clear skies everyone, and keep looking up!!

I appreciate the detail you provide about the object. Not many channels do this that I'm aware of.

Great content as usual. I got a cheap telescope last summer. I live in a dark sky community on the Westslope of Co. I'm able to see a few moons around jupiter! I'm saving for a better telescope. I'm hoping to see Lapetus this summer. 🙏

What a beautiful image. I recently bought a ZWO ASI2600MC Duo, but have been too busy to set my telescope up to use it. Watching your channel is very inspiring. Thanks.

been interested in astrophotography, def gonna check out APT to edit. Much of it seems complex, so a program that's more novice friendly sounds approachable. Also today is the first time hearing about the Jellyfish nebula, that crimson is otherworldly

I just found your youtube channel today. I find your videos interesting, so I also subscribed. Our setups are very similar, but I notice you are using a laptop and APT. I made the change to ASIair plus and I gotta tell you - it is a game-changer when it comes to PA , object targeting, session programming and taking calibration frames. Since my mount is also Orion and was easy to setup with the asiair you should have no problem. And it will save you from having to setup a laptop since you drive the asiair on your phone or tablet. Added bonus, its a wireless connection so you can sit in your car at the park during your session during cold nights. Anyway, great videos and I will be watching in the future . Your voice is very soothing. If you leave Nasa you could become a preacher (lol). BTW, I will be getting some images in Orion tonight taking advantage of this constellation before it leaves us for the season. I plan on getting some time on the Jellyfish before it sets. Thanks for a new target.

Great image! You mentioned that you used a new processing workflow. I am having all kinds of trouble processing, any chance you create a video showing us your processing workflow , would be a great help for us newbies.

I'd like to practice this new workflow a few more times until I become more comfortable with it. But I do plan to create a video for it afterwards.

Great video and final image. I haven’t had a chance at that nebula either. It is an option for me, I have a RedCat51, and it is something I could go for as we hit galaxy season - the RedCat is far too short a focal length for those way off galaxies to do them justice.
@AstroParkAstrophotography
@AstroParkAstrophotography Жыл бұрын
Thanks Jonathan! It was an interesting target to go after, and I hope you have the opportunity to capture it as well before the season ends. Even though it has a short focal length, you can still enjoy galaxy season with your Red Cat on those galaxy cluster targets.

Yeah, poor weather in my area recently as well as my full time work limit me to create videos about once or twice a month. That can possibly change in the future though. According to their website, ZWO only manufactures CMOS cameras.

@@AstroParkAstrophotography And you are completely right sir! I don't know how my mind went to cooled cameras === CCD's :) That's so weird. Oh well - gonna invest in a 2600MM anyways at some point :) I know the feeling of time limits, I'm trying to add every other week and it's hard with work / family / clouds :)

Great job. I am currently working on a project imaging the Monkey Head, Jellyfish, and Globular M35 in the same shot using my Rokinon 135 , ASI533MC combo. At F/2.9, it is too fast to use my LeXtreme. So far, I have about 3 hours on targe. I'm just using my LPro Filter.. I would love to have seen you do a processing video to go along with your accusation video.

love your content was thinking you see nebulas can you see black holes or magnetars
@AstroParkAstrophotography
@AstroParkAstrophotography Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately black holes can't be seen directly. However if you measure a position of space and notice stars rotating around it, that is a possible indication of a black hole in that area.

Beautiful processed image. I wanted to ask, I use the Optolong L-Extreme filter, which I have been told is not ideal for galaxies vs nebulas. I was considering an L-Pro as a galaxy season alternative. Do you have any thoughts?
@AstroParkAstrophotography
@AstroParkAstrophotography Жыл бұрын
Thanks Robert! Yes, the L-Pro is preferred for galaxies since it's a broadband filter and the L-eXtreme is used mainly on nebulae targets since it's a narrowband filter. You can use the L-eXtreme on galaxies such as M31, which has some H-alpha regions and blend it with the L-Pro data to make the nebula regions in the galaxy pop out more.
