A lot of the feel is that of British history. There's Hadrian's wall. The danger from the Scottish from the north. The War of the Roses - the red rose of the house of Lancaster and the white rose of the house of York.

I mean, GRRM did base ASOIAF, at least the first book partly on British History. Stark and Lannister were supposed to be analogues to York and Lancaster with the war of the roses. It obviously deviated pretty quickly but I read somewhere that was one of his inspirations.

From my experience? Baratheon always wins... I've played only a board game and always 6 person. Well.. once 4 person and it was highly unbalance

Baratheon is surrounded by the other players, and is the only player that has no VP they can get to on turn 1 that doesnt have a chance of fighting one player or another, and their capital is an island that can be cut off. In a 4 player game they are in a good spot, but any more and it goes downhill quick for them. Plus if they want a stronghold, they are the only player that has to get rid of a neutral token to get one first.

To the TV show? The original board game preceded the TV show and is an adaptation of the book.

@@Kravkash ....yes....sorry you see them represented one way for so long and it gets hard to see it any other. There isn't really an in depth description of the sigils in the book, like for instance the Baratheon stag is usually represented in the rearing position but I don't think that's ever stated in the books.

@@Haeman89 No worries! I'm not sure about detailed descriptions of the sigils from the books but I suspect you're right enough about the Baratheon stag - it's depicted here as "passant", rather than "rampant". Personally, I think they nail the Kraken for the Greyjoys!
