I've been reading different interpretation about victory conditions about scenario "Retaking Vierville". Some says that as long as american units control only one of the 4 hexes designated as victory conditions for german side it will fullfill the american victory conditions that is preventing german units to control all 4 victory conditions hexes. In your video you say the contray, that is german units need only to control one of this hex to fullfill german victory conditions... 😏🤔😌

You only get the benefit of the extra one if you spend the entire movement phase on the road. Approx at 34:35 the units would have had to declare CX at the start to get into the building for 7MF 47: 40 the LLTC is only a TASK CHECK not a morale check. Because you rolled and 11 the unit is only Pin

@36.54 you say First fire can only shoot at adj hexes,. Final Fire cant fire at all . Can you help me with the rules reference to read this ? Sounds different than Jay Richardson PDF. Also @39:32 why do the the Americans get a final Fire marker for their first fires ? thanks for clarifying

Thanks for the nice video. I appreciate that you show the real game. Lots of youtube video show the VASL game and I dont like then rendering ... around 54:11, you said that the subsequent first fire of a unit is limited by the range of their last target and this is not entirely true. The range is limited by the closest ennemi with los. So that german squad is not limited by 5 hex but already by 4 with that american in the building.

Not sure, my friend, I may be wrong; around 49:00 your German stack in the lower left (SE sector) has a squad pass it's MC1, but the leader and other squad failed. The good unit then had to roll a leader-break MC and failed miserably, reducing it in quality. But ... the squad that initially broke ... since the leader broke wasn't it also supposed to then take the leader-break MC as well? If so you may have overlooked this .... Still .... great video and great clarifications of the rules as you go.

I believe the unit is actually just pinned, not broken or reduced. The leader broke which requires the unit to make a PTC check (not a MC). Rolling an 11 on a PTC doesn’t cause ELR. The broken unit doesn’t need to roll for his PTC, because you can’t be pinned while broken (accept because of interdiction.)

@@dapineaple Yup, that hits it. If this was a MC of some kind then yes, the squad would be replaced. But this was a LLTC which is a PTC caused by the leader breaking. The PTC, according to the rules I have, state that the unit that fails just picks up a pin counter and the misery it brings. It's only the MCs that can cause this sort of havoc!

Thanks for the great video. ASL is complicated ... you're way ahead of me! I am not sure - however that (on 26:28) you are allowed to get a 3MP bonus for the NC counter AND the road movement bonus. It kinda makes sense in a way, but there is a 1 MP road bonus for a squad alone; and there is a 2MP bonus for moving with an NCO counter. I do not think you can get both - I may be wrong, though, since an NCO moving alone on a road WOULD get an extra MP road bonus. Is that really how it is? What does is specifically say, and is there any errata that clarifies this?
