Mike, thank you. And, please let Spitfire know that Simeon sent you. While I am not on a commission, it helps to support the channel to let them know to keep the libraries coming. ;^) Joyfully yours!

I imagine this would be perfect for composing video game music as it's a smaller sound and playful, this demo got me really interested in this library :)

Yes, that is the beauty of Spitfire’s approach to their Chamber Strings, the sound is surprisingly tight being recorded at AIR, and the section size hits a sweet spot as well.

@@PraiseTracksgets me thinking of the famous tight strings, arranged by the guitarist, of old Honky Dory and Ziggy Stardust where Quicksand probably is my favourite. What's left is conquering the hugely human performances that were recorded in Boston for Van Morrison's Astral Weeks.

I think he's improvising. He does it all the time. And he's amazing! He's got those gospel chops, with a little jazz, some Bach, and a great intuition for contemporary cinematic. (How I hear it).

Yep, I let the sounds take me where they want to go and it is surprising and fun whenever that happens. I guess that’s why I like to call the content on the channel Joyful Journeys as that is what they feel like to me, going into an instrument and seeing where things go. Thanks so much for the kind support. Keep watching and Stay Joyful!

Hi Simeon Thanx a lot for this video I have the pro version. But the essentials sounds in a way better. Or i am wrong ?

My pleasure. So, essentially 🤓they use the same recordings but feature only the CLOSE and TREE mic positions, the same as in the larger packages. If you have the Pro version of Chamber Strings, I think you get Essentials as a bonus. This is great to have the smaller library for portable use or for projects and templates where you want a more streamlined setup. You can sketch things out with Essentials and move to Pro when fine tuning things and possibly selecting a different mic configuration. Thanks so much for the kind support. Joyfully!

Having just taken a rehearsal with a real string orchestra I can confirm that these sounds are nothing like real instruments, certainly in arco - perhaps closer with pizzicato. I am surprised things haven't come further but I'm still hearing a keyboard in most of this.

There is nothing like the real thing, especially just coming from playing in the real sense and then coming here watching a keyboard player trying to represent these beautiful instruments. I think that is the biggest limitation that handicaps many libraries, especially when being approached by someone like me whose main instrument is truly nothing like a violin, viola, cello, string bass. I think it is crucial to be exposed and learn as much as you can how a real orchestra is played in the real sense, as well as how to properly orchestrate for each instrument and section, i think there is where the secret lies. Thanks for sharing your experience, it is a continued reminder and challenge for me to continue listening and learning. Joyfully yours.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply. I guess I'm unsure what it is that still seems to elude those who devise this software. Some people I know have invested thousands in sampled sets but, to my ears, we still seem to be a long way from truth. @@PraiseTracks

@classicaloracle yes, it was so funny that after reading your comment, I watched one of my first videos doing a song using Philharmonik 2 and I heard myself say, “You have to be careful with strings, or they will sound like an organ”😂😂😂 Still fighting that battle! For me I am featuring these in a sort of live performance/improv style and that is part of the issue. To really nail this type of thing you have to treat each section separately to get those beautiful parts moving in and out of each other along with having the co trip over the dynamics and expression for each part allows it to be, let’s say more human. You also piqued my interest in searching for more orchestration resources to help educate myself on how to properly structure things. Have a great day, and let’s see what is still ahead to discover.

It's the way he plays like a keyboard player . You have to respect the limitations of vst and try to fit more into string player mentality . Smoother legato . Less of the key switching sound you can get from melodic lines

hello, i was wondering if you have a place on your website or YT channel where you have a list of all the free instruments(just the free instruments for convenience) that you promote?

Courtney, I found this post over at the Cakewalk user forum, it provides a list for free instrument plugins as well as free Kontakt libraries. Most of the free Kontakt libraries you find require the full version of Kontakt. Check it out here: THE CURATED LIST OF FREE & RECOMMENDED SAMPLE LIBRARIES & SOFT SYNTHS discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/topic/52223-the-curated-list-of-free-recommended-sample-libraries-soft-synths/

Do you like and listen to The Beatles?
@PraiseTracks
@PraiseTracks 9 ай бұрын
I did not grow up listening to the Beatles but as I have been exposed to their music, I appreciate their contribution to music in general. They are the example of having the opportunity to search for a sound and being bold enough to try so many different things resulting in forging paths that were not present before.
