'Abby': Who is that into bats? Me: Bruce Wayne? Guano is a material component of Fireball... Makes me want to make a wizard who bakes spell components in muffins... "No, I'm casting lightning bolt. I need the lemon poppy seed, not pumpkin spice!" I'm surprised none of you had a talking, cowardly dire wolf animal companion. Abby understands the bat's hopes and dreams, but does she get its gravy recipe? Is there a way to mark the doors as open in Roll20, to change/expand the field of vision?

Honestly if you're willing to spend money on roll20 which is how you access fog of war don't just buy foundryVTT instead it's way better and it's a one time purchase only one person in the group needs

Watching this makes clear to me how hard it is to show off what all you can do with roll20. Having used it for over three years now, it's got a lot of power that you just don't see in this.
@madmanwithaplan18264 жыл бұрын
You may want to switch now there's a new tool out foundryVTT it's got all the premium features of roll20 without the stupid monthly payment only one person per group needs to buy it. And it's got awesome community add ons that are simple to look and apply. one of my players mentioned they missed the pop out function of roll20s sheets so I did a quick search and two clicks later had installed a module that lets my players pop out sheets.
@user-ir8fx6uv1j4 жыл бұрын
The trouble with moving to a different platform is having to reinvest. I've already bought several modules and rulebooks for roll20. Sometimes, being first matters.
@madmanwithaplan18264 жыл бұрын
@@user-ir8fx6uv1j theres no rule books to buy from foundry they just give you... i suppose systems is the correct way to phrase it. im running starfinder right now with my group. and i didnt have to buy a module from them to play starfinder. a part of the community just make all the things you would need to run starfinder so character sheets starship sheets ect. anyway give it a look maybe your not ready to switch cause you have so much invested but ya know you might be interested later
@user-ir8fx6uv1j4 жыл бұрын
Then what you describe is lacking a ton of material that is available on roll20.
@madmanwithaplan18264 жыл бұрын
@@user-ir8fx6uv1j for now? yes perhaps but i think they are updating their moduels for official content soon so you can have a paid for package. eitherway give it a look don't its up to you i played rolled20 for 3 years 4? gm and player with all kinds of systems shadowrun blades in the dark dnd 5e 3.5 starfinder. I can buy a complete module or adventure on foundry but i never did that anyway so for me the fact that foundry is just better in a most ways a market place to buy things i already own is not an big loss

Dicebreaker, a group of people who have consistently made it clear that they prefer theatre of the mind over having maps seem an odd choice to sponsor to show off you service whose most significant selling point is a versatile map editor, but I'll take whatever content I can get so no complaints.

Pssst hey kid wanna play a better game of dnd? Don't wanna pay a monthly fee for higher storage and subpar fog of war? Want to be able to customize the UI install useful gadgets and tools quickly and easily into hundreds of trpgs? Then don't play on roll20 buy a copy of foundry only one person needs to buy it of your group. Get dynamic sounds dynamic lights better fog of war than roll20 and a great community of people creating mods you can install with a click of a button. This comment was not sponsored by anyone and I just wanted to make sure you know there's a better tool out there for your rpg games
