I think the best way to play daggerfall is to set your own rules for your role - you can easy get lost in the world - good luck for your "special" character

in a DnD campaign my Dark Knight( paladin/Warlock) had a Imp Familiar, that would shapeshift into a Raven and stay on my shoulder or head, and talk shit at people, it was a Mix of Aladdin's Yago and Rocket Raccoon from Guardians of the galaxy, in his humanoid form and due to his average INT, he coud use magical items such as a Wand of magic missile, turning it into a Smart ammo-Sub machine gun wielding maniac, who had a thing for collecting the eyes of the people we killed and he would always tell people that he would peck their eyes out in their sleep in his raven form...

I ported my save to Unity now and it's just....incredible. DF was already one of my all-time favorite games, and Unity set the bar even higher. Love watching other people enjoy this incredible game.

I had been thinking about Elder Scrolls again recently, after trying not to get hyped for Starfield because I'd rather just get ES6 before half the commnity are draugers. Then I saw a video where Todd Howard said he thinks there is room for more hard-core rpg elements to come back into games and he named dropped Daggerfall in relation to Starfield. So had me thinking again. While looking up mods and watching retrospectives I found your channel. I have to say I love your different series so far, and I like how you try to roleplay what your character would do. Which is how I play alot in certain games. Then funny enough I went on a video tangent and looked up The Wayward Realms and sure enough two separate videos the game developers for that game mentioned your Mad Genius series as inspiration for different ways to let players experience and Interact with their games. I laughed so hard the second time they mentioned your videos. I would love to see more creative ways to allow players to better role play in modern games. Thanks for the great and funny/informative videos.

You should of taken short blade for the Dr Frankenstein part. You need at least ONE way to defend yourself to start. Otherwise I see no reason for this person to leave his office. There would be no reason with out a guard or way of defending himself to go out into the field. But I will watch and see how this develops

I created a "brawler" class. I only knew hand-to-hand combat but it got very ridiculous where I could bludgeon guards to death with my fisticups. I had a low inteligence and personality stat since I wanted my character to essentially be a jock. Stealing was easy enough where I could breakdown any door very quickly and steal the entire contents a store and leave the country to sell everything I had stolen. Finding things was very difficult since everybody hated my character, I really enjoy the freedom and scale daggerfall has compared to other TES games. Skyrim seems crap in comparison since everything feels small and easy to cheese. DFUnity is really shaping upto be the TES game I have always wanted.

Thank you so much buddy! Yes this guy will more freely use magical items than the Dark Knight. Like I say during creation: soul trapping and making magical items is a very typical Mad Genius hobby!

I actually have changed that rule. I realised I skilled up Destruction after using a item. So to me that indicates it takes skill to use a active magical item. So the rule will be I will treat those items as spells and not use them. I will use all passive magical items since they dont take skill to use, and I will only use active magical items if they fall under Mysticism!

So you don't use mountains and hills. Do distant terrain and mountain and hills conflict somehow? I have them both active and things seem to work but the DREAM page says to use one or the other

I think I had both installed here and noticed no problems. Then when I made a new install I also saw that thing on the Dream page so I removed Hills and mountains. Maybe should just try with both and see what happens? Could just disable one if glitches
