I was working so I missed the question at 43:23. Speaking from personal experience, I lean away from restaurants and movies as a first date. But if the other person insists, offer to cook the meal instead. Even if it's like a frozen pizza or lasagna. It's cheaper and they'll appreciate the effort. Game nights are great for a first date! There are even some games specifically designed for first dates where you can learn about each other in a more relaxed setting. This helps especially with people who have trouble opening up about themselves. And then for second date, go bowling!
