If he tries 2.0 version of the campaigns it has each mission spiced with a faster start and feeling less the same... Otherwise any of Danny's versions of the campaign too can be more interesting since they improve the experience of the campaign

Warcraft 2 would be more realistic if sometimes, you get an Oil Tanker from BP which messes up the Oil Platform, destroys the entire oil patch, and covers the sea in oil

I'd like to thank the guy in chat who said ships were his favorite part of WC2 and he was disappointed they weren't in WC3, because for some reason I was still convinced they were also in WC3 and there were just no PvP maps which made use of them.

EXCLUDING the factor of micro and player skill gameplay controls, this is based only on the difference of spell functions of units itself yep, Alliance is stronger than Horde in Warcraft 2 because of Mages. All the units with different spells ranking goes as: Mage > Ogre Mage > Paladin > Death Knight Also High Elven Rangers are better than Forest Troll Berserkers because Marksmanship Damage Upgrade > Troll Regeneration Upgrade.

9 Mages with Polymorph and Blizzard = MAYHEM! 9 Instakills! It's the only unit that can instakill in the game so I agree with your ranking except I'd place Paladin below Death Knights (Unholy Armor+Death and Decay combo is insane and it only requires 2 Death Knights)

@@MALEMization paladin instant kills death knight with exorcism. Exorcism can be casted from quite a far and full mana cast can kill clustered groups dks and skeletons with the slow moving death knight not being able to do so much I think it can also kill daemons in the campaign(?)

They won't. Blizzard officially said that both Warcraft 1 and 2 "are not fun anymore" and they won't remake these games. I would say "they" are not fun anymore :D so it's even better they are going to forget about it.

Yes, WarCraft II had the consistently best music (especially Orc). StarCraft 1 comes close, and a subset of the WarCarft III soundtracks live up to its legacy, but it's definitely a mixed bag.

Bloodlust in this game is not answered by any of paladin spells. It is rather answered by mage ones. Ogre has better spells than paladin but mage has better than DK. Polymorph is damn strong ranged instakill, invis allows unique tactical actions orcs don't have, slow counteracts bloodlust to some degree. But of course for both races blizzard and death&decay are the main ones all the time.

most players still seem to prefer Orc for bloodlust and most WC2 MP matches seem to be Orcwars. I heared one of the players speak about it and tell, that in theory, heal would be equal or even stronger, but the clumsy WC2 controls make it to much hazzle to use in combat. meanwhile you can prebuff BL and just send the ogres in while doing something else. that is just not possible with paladins and also not rly with mages

Bloodlust is pretty ridiculous just in general. It straight-up doubles the target's damage, and the interaction with armor amplifies that effect and makes it more like triple damage. In theory perfectly-microed mages can just polymorph all the ogres, but in practice caster micro is hard in wc2 and ogres close the distance very fast.

@@jarrakul yep that is the thing. let us say hman does a mage/Pala mix while Orc does pure ogre. orc precast bloodlust and A clicks them in. meanwhile human mirco like a god, polys most ogres, slows the rest and after battle, heals up the wounded units. he will still loose many because BL is that strong. meanwhile the ogre has build a new army of ogres while the human was busy with micro. because barracs also have no lineup option for building units

Oh boy, Grubby, if only you knew… fans all over the globe are now making mods. Personally recommend one: Danny's AI Royal Edition or his Legacy of Dalaran mod. There's even some story involved. Plus it's not just a regular AI … it's a smart AI!

"Some people say Ogre's are better than Knights." Bloodlust doubles the damage of the target unit. Its completely insane. Heal grants one point of healing per SIX points of mana. It just can't compete.

Not to mention the healing spell is almost impossible to use because you can't actually see which units are taking damage in order to click the spell on them. StarCraft's addition of lifebars directly on the units in the game window would've been such a HUGE QoL change for this very reason. Imagine that! A spell that's completely useless just because of how the information is displayed in game!

Bloodlust is so much more convenient than healing in a fast paced game. Plus I prefer death knight spells, coil so much better than fireball as well! I love hman tho just like in WC3 :D

The fact that they thought the battlenet edition needed faster paced games still makes me scratch my head...the game clearly was balanced around a medium, slower speed so that there's more balance between orcs and humans, what were they thinking indirectly buffing bloodlust?

Grubby does Warcraft voice impressions? Eeee, love it, hah. Best place to play multiplayer Warcraft 2 in 2024 is War2USA. Tons of fun still being had playing this awesome game! Being able to comment on the way the footman walks is what separates basic streamers from the pro streamers.
