Not only was Kudzu introduced for ornamental purposes, it was also suggested to be used as a food crop for cattle and other livestock and to help prevent soil erosion, which it actually does fairly well. However, it can out compete against almost /all/ native plant species because it doesn't have any natural predators / things that are capable of out-competing it. It's incredibly hardy and it's very hard to keep up with it's fast growth.

Watching this episode almost makes me want to play Minecraft again... haven't played in months, possibly around a year. It was something like 1.8, and I was just getting into online gaming with Minecraft, but the server was 1.73 or something. One drunken night I went to check something real quick on my main single player world which I had been building for over a year, forgot to go back to 1.8, entered it in 1.73, and basically lost everything. Many of my older structures were still there, likely the newer structures made of the new stone were gone, I didn't take the time to see all of the devastation. I just stopped playing. At least I took screenshots of ALL my structures, and ALL the signs I posted in front of them with their names and dates. Biggest unrecoverable loss was my journals in which I tracked my progress as I continued to build structures. It was insane, something like 18 towers, 10 bridges, a couple roads, 4 forts, 3 castles, 3 tunnels or so with powered rails (including one that was over 1km long), I was developing a series of maps as I continually stretched out farther in this world (always built my next building within sight of an existing one so I never got lost), made a Canadian flag out of banners, and to this day, I've never once played in 'creative mode'. In truth, I wouldn't know how to enable it if I wanted to, which I don't. Oh yeah, there was something like 2-3 lighthouses too. Many structures were in memoriam to people. A lighthouse for when my uncle died in 2014, a bridge for Lt. Gen. Mikhail Kalashnikov whom passed away 2013, one of my best towers was titled "Williams Observation Tower" for Robin Williams, then there's Fort Wilde for Oscar Wilde, oh yeah and Flewty Towar which is in homage to the show Fawlty Towers. Intentionally made it off-kilter, with a really funky and unsafe roof. Oh yeah, and my tunnels were called Tom, Dick, and Harry. Made my very own Tower of Pimps which I placed on top of my favourite castle, I say again, never once did I go into creative mode. Played the game honestly, got the resources by mining them, it took A LOT of gold to get all that powered rail... also, in order to preserve coal, I tried to use lava as much as possible, so there were a couple underground magma pools from which I got buckets of the stuff. My intention was to completely drain it over time so that hopefully some day I could look along the bottom to see if there were any good resources. I think I got a third of the way, it was a pretty deep pool... cooked/smelted A LOT of stuff with all that. Good times, but painful to think that so much of it is lost.
