I had never heard of this game before you did the first part and I'm really interested to see how this plays out. I also love that you've been playing more "mainstream" games as of late. But it fills my heart with joy that you've started playing a game I've never heard of cause that's part of the reason I love watching you. I know even if I've never heard of a game your playing chances are if you like it I normally do too. So thanks and keep doing what you do. Also I love your take on the more "mainstream" games as well the details that you notice are things that I'm surprised I've over looked and often makes me want to go back and play some of those games again.

While, the rubbish is practically useless, it does kinda teach you how the inventory system works, so it's also really helpful. It's pretty true to life, taking out the trash is something that everyone needs to learn to do and is very important.

***** Thank you: ) The game actually teaches the player a few science-y things along the way, like how to build a simple capacitor, where in nature to get sulfuric acid, how to make dynamite (I bet googling that got me on a government list somewhere), and a mostly accurate way to make a metal mold.

FYI ***** I've started up a thread on Steam compiling a sequence map/diagram for this game, and I'm following your playthrough (and recalling my own) in order to put it together (and just for fanonical ordering of items and processes). I was pleasantly surprised to find it pinned, though _that_ was certainly not my own doing, lol.

Just the mere fact that this is a Metroidvania makes my OCPD (I think it's called) act up because every time you pass by a lit torch or lantern, I always want to see you attack it and get a heart from it.

I don't mean to sound snooty or whatever, but I know for a fact that it isn't 'Wall-purgisnatch'. Walpurgis Nacht is, I'm pretty sure, a german word. It's supposed to be pronounced Nahckt. I think it's supposed to be some kinda doomsday thing or generally something bad and magical related.
@darkfalzx9 жыл бұрын
Journeyman Vance Oh, don't worry, it will get to that. Though nothing the game will end up telling you about Walpurgisnacht is actually canon. I kind of just took the idea of something ominous, and created my own background for it. At one point I was afraid it might piss off the Wiccan community, and thought to change it, but, nahh: )
@JourneymanVance9 жыл бұрын
darkfalzx Did I just get a reply from the developer? I was making a comment about Naka's pronunciation... Though, knowing the developer knows Naka's doing this, for all I know, you coulda told him to pronounce it that way!
@darkfalzx9 жыл бұрын
I am the dev of this game, and no - I didn't tell him to pronounce it wrong: ) I was commenting more on the ominous connotations of Walpurgisnacht rather than people butchering the pronunciation, as I have given up hopes of that since releasing Ultionus (pronounced All-Tea-Own-Us). You should've seen in how many ways that got mispronounced: )
@ConaRikan29 жыл бұрын
Journeyman Vance Walpurgis Nacht is supposed to be the most magical time of the year, particularly to witches. Yes, it is german, and has been used in a fair number of other media.
@mllarson9 жыл бұрын
Journeyman Vance Someone mentioned in the first video how to pronounce it as well, but I would assume Naka does a few of these vids in one sitting and will probably eventually start pronouncing it correctly. If only there wasn't so much ambiguity in pronouncing words....

I've seen skulls with wings in a number of games including the Castlevania series. I wonder if that is based on something.
@ZapGiga9 жыл бұрын
necogreendragon I don't think it's based on anything in particular, it's just a simple but effective monster design.
@darkfalzx9 жыл бұрын
necogreendragon Flying skulls are the easiest enemy design to think of, if you can't think of an enemy design. There might, in fact, be two or three variations of those in the game. Keeping the enemies varied is always an issue, especially in a longer game. By the end, I was venturing into some rather creepy territories, with cute pixel versions of Manananggals and Penanggalans.

@darkfalzx9 жыл бұрын
zelos1826 I had a blast designing both Franky and Nicky, though Nicky gets a bit more screen time. There were more scenes with Franky planned for later in the game, but most were cut due to time constraints. I might update the game with more content/expanded scenes later - I still have an unused animation of Romana twirking: )

@Team_Orchid9 жыл бұрын
spiritomb108 Ugh, no Earthbound inventory was worse as it had so much tax. There's the stone, the phone, the atm card, and your equipment along with whatever MacGuffin you needed at the time.
@spiritomb1089 жыл бұрын
Although you *can* finagle the beginning of the game by filling your inventory with Cookies to force the Sound Stone to Tracie. Also I don't think you actually NEED the cellphone on you.
@GlennMagusHarvey9 жыл бұрын
MissingnoTheGreat I think it's basically to discourage people from simply picking up everything and throwing everything at every obstacle by brute force. I didn't feel it was that much of a burden, honestly. And I just left all my extra items in a warp room.
@Maswartz2269 жыл бұрын
I take it items don't despawn?
@darkfalzx9 жыл бұрын
Maswartz226 Never. Like in a point-and-click adventure, the items are a key to progress in Belle, so they permanently stay where you left them, and are, in fact, marked on your minimap with dots. It's still a good idea to store most of your excess inventory in and around the Travel Mirrors.

(5:12) So, there's no "No Damage" achievements for this game? (5:39) Those pigs don't look very meat-y. More like ectoplasm or gelatin. (7:16) Wait, enemies can give health? When did this happen?!
