LADY LOVE DIES "INVESTIGATION FREAK" IS ON THE CASE
Paradise is an island that regenerates every few millennia. The psychic power that the alien worshipers within release into the universe is meant to feed and eventually resurrect their fallen deities. But this force also attracts undesired interest from demons, who eventually corrupt each island - until a new alternate reality is birthed by the Council.
The system isn’t perfect, but it will be one day - on Perfect 25, the next island-to-be. But on the eve of rebirth, the Council is murdered and Paradise is killed.
In the aftermath, the “investigation freak” Lady Love Dies is summoned from exile to find the culprit. This is the crime to end all crimes.
What are the facts? What are the truths? Are they the same?
BREATH LIFE BACK INTO PARADISE
You are tasked with finding the killer and building an airtight case against them. Take your case to trial and argue your interpretation of the evidence. Only when someone is successfully convicted can the crime be considered solved and Paradise be saved.
FACT AND TRUTH ARE NOT THE SAME
The “truth” is that there are many possible killers, and many ways to build a case. Even if you make a convincing case for prosecution and get someone convicted, is the mystery really solved?

Paradise is an island set in an alternate future history filled with cryptic lore and even more mysteries. Examine bizarre relics to learn more about this world’s surreal history.
FIND YOUR PARADISE
You choose who to accuse, and build a case to support conviction. Everyone on Paradise has a secret to hide and something to gain. Old friends become new suspects, forcing you to choose between the evidence, the greater good and your own beliefs. There are many possible murderers, but who you pick will define your own personal truth.
GATHER EVIDENCE
Let your personal computer and electronic assistant Starlight be your guide through another dance of an investigation. Collect evidence, record testimony and interpret the facts to form your own truth.
UNLOCK HIDDEN AREAS
Solve hieroglyph puzzles on ancient nightmare computers to discover new areas of the island, find concealed evidence and reveal terrifying secrets.

It was nice seeing something a bit different. In my playthrough I decided to go for the full truth mostly out of fear of Witness getting away. I was also kind of hoping that when the time to "execute justice" came I could get to choose not to execute the Daybreaks.

Thanks for playing! This was a fun watch. Incidentally, I'm pretty sure Dainonigate is supposed to be Japanese for "great weakness" or "huge annoyance". Carmelina's a fantastic mother!

That was an interesting ending. That last part of the trial was basically a long summary. I probably would have exposed the whole truth. Too bad you can't exile Lydia and Sam back to Earth. Maybe whoever is in charge next will let them leave. Imagine if there was a second case where something already happened on Island 25 while you were figuring out the case on Island 24. With how much they talk about "Perfect 25," too bad we don't get to see it.

You kind of have to execute Lydia to take Bear-Chan with you; she hops in her empty seat. But yeah, that's the thing: you can wrap up the case any way you feel- accept that henry did it and just kill him, kill the one conspiracy or the other, or just kill everyone- and you have no idea how, or even if, it changed anything. It's like the one bargoer said: to be solved isn't a binary state. All you can do is what you think is right, and find out if it was later.

I know this is 2 years late. I love the discussion of the moral ambiguity. That’s how I felt when I heard about the mass kidnapping. This isn’t paradise for all. And the real world never really gets discussed. Why do the pyramids stay for the gods. Interesting world. Love how you both add so much to the game play!

Had a lot of fun watching this playthrough! That vaporwave anime extravaganza and bizarre lore, hell yeah. And you guys' tangents are really entertaining. I thought it was a pretty interesting storytelling choice to have the game acknowledge how horrific the Syndicate is, but ultimately not let the player do much more than vaguely question it. You just do your job as investigator. "Wow I solved the case! Now let's keep kidnapping people and sacrificing them to our homicidal gods I guess." I liked it. It fits the tone imo.

If you ever do jump back on this game for the DLC, when you use the ability to see the important locations walk directly up to a wall. Facing the wall gives you a solid-ish color and should easily show you whatever is in the direction you are looking withoug having to guess. And yeah I came back after 10 months to watch this again. Beat the game again for the 4th time on PC and wanted to see what your ending was again.

I didn't actually read the all-uppercase word FINALE :D Honestly, I am quite glad it wrapped up fairly swiftly. Maybe a bit curious what happens if you just accuse Henry and instantly end it or some silly stuff like that.

I think the only way to have a happy ending for Daybreaks is to not execute the man who promised them that ending - Witness. But that's just my speculation.
