"gefährlich" (or gefaehrlich due to English not having those letters) just means "dangerous" with the "un" prefix basically being the same kind of negation as in Englisch (fair-unfair) So what Erasmus is asking amounts to "Do you know what is big, purple and eats non-dangerous things?" With the response being "Big, purple non-dangerous things eaters" followed by Fenrus stating that "Large purple non-dangerous things eaters are all too common". The first game in general has a bit of a German setting, hence the first magic sign upon reaching the mountain. "Willkommen auf Zauberberg = Welcome to Magic-mountain" or names like Otto (the Goon).

Just to be clear, he doesn't ALWAYS ask about the air speed of a laden swallow. It was just a coincidence. I think you got the ogre fight on lockdown. Best thing to do is wait for him to raise his leg and swing before he takes a step toward you, or so I find. Make sure your health and stamina are up if you decide to enter the cave behind him. You may need it. Or not. Derek is pretty rock solid at this point, well done there. You're definitely at the point where the night is survivable as long as you don't try to sleep and you need to kill a mantra ray and a troll for points as a fighter.

Ah Erasmus and Fenrus, my fav characters in the series. Sadly in the first game you get most out of meeting him as a magic user. Although he does give you some useful info for a fighter and a thief.

One question the Gargoyle might ask is "What is the password to the Thieve's Guild?" Answering correctly gets you kicked out! (Would YOU allow a thief into your home?!" the answer he WANTS to hear is "I DON'T KNOW"

Yeah, I thought Kiko would like Erasmus. It's a shame Derek is a fighter; Magic-Users get some extra dialogue and can play a mini-game with him. Also, I miss EGA Erasmus, who looked like a friendly Ming the Merciless.

And speaking of Baba Yaga, you should go to her house and give her a piece of your mind. Coming around to such a quint little town and tossing curses all about. Someone needs to give her a talking to and it might as well be the guy who just slew a Cheetuar as if it were a goblin.

Yeah honestly, the EGA's bright magenta house perched upon the peak was _wayyy_ more eccentric than the VGA's . . . whatever that is.
