Welp, good series and all that. I say this to you all the time, but it's nice to see someone who grew up in the classic era who can approach games like Sonic 4 and appreciate them for what they're worth. It's not a masterpiece and it's not one of the best Sonic games, but compared to a lot of the Dark Age games it might as well be. Of course, we still got a pretty bad Kinect game coming up next, so perhaps the Dark Age isn't over quite yet. But I'm just excited to see you tackle my favorite Sonic game shortly after. I love me some Sonic Colors.

You know, I honestly do find this Death Egg Robot harder than the one in Sonic 2. Now I'm not saying it's like "Oh jeez this guy is impossible," but I've played Sonic 2 enough to where I can fight the Death Egg Robot with no rings no problem. The difficulty from the fight solely comes from the fact that having no rings makes you extremely nervous and prone to making more mistakes. And it only takes 12 hits there, compared to the 25 hits he needs here. Sonic 4 also has the logic where your rings get scattered the more hits you've taken, so if you've taken hits from the previous bosses, your rings might fly away here, making it so you're fighting this guy with no rings as well. And of course he's a heck of a lot more aggressive here than in Sonic 2.

+NintenDex This is the best incarnation of the Death Egg Robot in my opinion. Sonic 2's has a artificial difficulty with the no-rings setting and the Generations one is easy and boring.

***** It truly is, but the whole boss in general has the tropes of a difficult final boss. Lots of projectiles, it's invincible most of the time, no rings on the actual fight and it even has a KO move. If I can recommend anything, is that you jump right before he hits the ground. You'll be able to homing attack him quite easily and win.

***** Nice use of Clement's catchphrase at the end lol I like S4 Ep 2 more than Ep 1 because it has better physics and it just feels faster in general, but I still enjoy Ep 1. Like I said in my original comment, I still prefer the S4 version of this boss because it's actually hard, unlike the Generations one which is pathetic, and unlike the original S2 version which is only artificially hard. But eh, opinions.

I want all the trophies for the PS3 version, and that will give me trouble. Great work, Great Clement! This is an okay game from what I've seen, but I know it could've been better.

This boss took me a MONTH trying to figure out what to actually do. This was when the last Sonic game I actually played was Sonic 2. It was also the first Sonic game I ever played. Believe it or not since I played Sonic 4, I was like, huh, I actually like this game. Then I played Colors because I heard good things about it, and, well, I'm a hardcore Sonic Fan now!

Does it look *bad?* No. But there's a difference, I think, between some similarity or call backs and that this looks almost a complete remake...a little more original? We had a rehash of Green Hill, Casino Night, Labyrinth, Metropolis, Death Egg...only thing that was really truly unique as far as I can see (and I'll be honest, I'm not much of a Sonic person) was the handling of Puke Bag Zone (which was clever, I admit)

Death Egg Robot is harder to get used to in Sonic 4. In Sonic 2, yes, he'll kill you in one hit, you had to fight Solver Sonic before him, and you can glitch through his torso...But he's VERY pattern-based. Also, no, "SON OF A BITCH!"? Aww...
