Hi, one of the game designers of Thunder Road: Vendetta here. Thanks so much for playing the game and doing such a great job showing it off. Just one quick rules correction: the lowest roll takes the first turn of the game, but for every turn afterward, the start player (and road die) just passes to the left.

Thanks - it had planted a doubt in my mind, so good to confirm we'd been playing it correctly. Oh, and what a wonderful job you did on this game. Comparing the 1980s version with this, you see the core concepts / aims the same, but the experience is massively more engaging now. The earlier edition I'd find unplayable now, whilst this version is such a joy to play. As a further aside, I recommended it one of our newer gaming group members last week, someone with very limited exposure to modern board gaming. I checked up how she got on with it last week, as I wasn't sure if it might work well or be overwhelming, and her eyes lit up! "It was just my sort of game!" she said.😎.

This is a great episode. Smaller cast, way different dynamic. Not that there's anything wrong with the bigger groups, but somehow it's more cozy and silly like this, which is a nice change of pace. Also Adam's enjoyment for the sheer possibilities of destruction by using the heli is wholesome.

Movement clarification: To get the Road Die bonus, you must start, move through, and end on only tiles that count as roads. That's includes any hazards you move over. The background of the mud tile is an offroad and the oil slick has a road on it. During the vid, it was specified that you start and end on a road tile but was still played correctly during the game.

As people have mentioned, “Uh oh, Chungo” is from Danger Island which was a serial on the Banana Splits show in the 60’s. While the Splits would use the phrase to introduce the latest episode, it was actually used in the show itself. There was a character named Chungo and his friend would use the phrase when he wanted him to show up. I also believe Chungo never spoke.

For anyone interested, you roll (lowest score) for first player, only in the first round. For the rest of the game, the road die is passed to the player on the left at the end of round. It basically acts as a rotating first player marker.

The Banana Splits were costumed animal characters that had silly adventures and featured shorts on their show which ran from 1968-70 and was made by Hana Barbara, directed by Richard Donor, and starred Jan-Michael Vincent! So of course Warner Bros. revived it in 2019 as a comedy horror slasher film! 🤦‍♂️
