Now knowing that this is what followed where I stopped playing I am glad I never finished the game. I do not like puzzle like stuff like this and would have probably never figured any of it out.

It does take a lot of tinkering. It kind of reminds me of getting super stuck in point-and-click games in the early 90s. Frustrating and time consuming, but SO rewarding when the breakthrough happens. Easier for a kid with gobs of free time to enjoy.
