Great video. I was always wondering how colors would turn out? I hope that you don’t mind me sharing my video on what I use the glow for. I use a bunch of it but it is worth the reward on the business end of the fishing pole. You have been officially invited to join me for an ice fishing trip BTW. 😊 Thanks for inspiring me over the years! kzbin.info/www/bejne/q568YY2FeauGo9U

@@gameopsdk buy the cheapest glow powder possible you can find on the internet. You do not need 8 hour glow. Cheep glow is bright in seconds. 8 hour glow has to be exposed to light a long time. Cheep glow glows brighter and is always glowing and charging as long as light is available. The speed of light is 186,000 miles per second. In one second your cheep glow will get a ray of light at 186,000 miles per second. Sooo cool!

I use Bobby garland mo glo baby shad for crappie and they always seem to have a white or light yellow or green bottom with the darker colors on top so I think the lighter color holds the UV light better but illuminates somewhat through the darker colors. But they all seem to just be a straight color very little amount of glitter flakes. Try a lightly colored UV bottom with a very lightly shaded darker colored pigment on top with no glow powder and see if it shows through it

Two things. First, charge these with a blacklight, as it provides a wavelength of light much more readily absorbed by the pigment powder you're using. The color of the glow indicates what wavelength you have to exceed to get maximum glow, and purple is the highest frequency in the visible spectrum. The reason the colored baits didn't glow well is because you used colors that filter out the light wavelengths needed to charge the powder. You'll need to use fairly translucent colors of purple or blue to see colored glow of any kind. Once more, also use a blacklight, you'll see an insane difference. Two minutes with a blacklight will make that stuff glow as bright as your phone screen.

so, i just got into doing this. (bait making in general) i got some of the lurecraft glow powder. i wanted to try it on some of the deeper stuff, thiknking they ould be highly visible in deep murky water. so, as such, i tried it on a crawfish hand pour. the color i used, of course, crawfish. its a pretty dark color. i used teh same measuring scoop you usd, one scoop to about 1/2 cup, and they actually glowed pretty good. they had a lot of color in. the powder did make them look lighter than just a std crawfish color, but they looked darker than your were, and they glowed quite well. im way too ignorant about all of this to know why mine worked better, mostly luck im sure.

Any pigment or opaque additive is going to prevent the glow from being charged. Its not really that its not coming through the color its that the color wont let it charge in the first place. So if you do a core shot of glow the color wont let it charge. If you do a core shot of color and the out side is clear then you may get a colored effect as it glows through from the other side.

Is this the kind of glow powder that needs to be charged with a black light or special UV light? Might charge better than a shop light.

Good first try... I think there are some possibilities to explore. One you mentioned, your idea for use as a "glow tail" is dead-on.

Nice try Chris!... though we knew all glow softbaits in the market do not contain any pigment ... Your remark about a glow tail on a swimbait is a sure thing!.... why don't you try a glow tail and a glow blood line on a swimbait? :) Just a suggestion...
