@@emilynoel83 You need to try out the Elf four pan cream contour and cream blush palettes! As far as I can tell, they are a different formula than their other cream products. I don’t *think* I’ve seen you use the palettes and that’s what I love!

The cream to powder formula which are the textured mattes in the palette are designed to be patted in place first then blended out to help them blend smoothly. That may help with the smoothness in blending, love your look 😊

Hey Emily! I know you are all about multitasking products, especially when it comes to palettes. But I wonder if you would do a video about palettes that unexpectedly go well together. Most of the mattes in that palette are the cream to powder formula so it takes a bit of a different technique. Watching her video explaining them really helped me get better looks with that formula.

I have also watched Nisha use this palette and I felt the same as you. The pigmentation is good but not if it isn’t blendable on the lid, and both of you seemed to have to work hard to get the colour to move, even when applied lightly at first. My eyelids move around enough already and I don’t need to tug at them even more 😄 Thankyou for a great and honest review. xx

I was surprised by the lack of depth on the bottom berry shade, but then tried something different. Laid down the bottom deep shade and then layered the other deep berry shade on top. It created exactly the level of depth I was looking for and the two together created a gorgeous tone.

The ND mini Retro palette is one of my faves so I was excited for this release. I don’t see any real connection between the mini & this midi Retro. However, like you, I love me some dusty rose. As soon as I saw this palette I thought, “Oh, I can’t wait to see what Emily thinks about this.” ND has like 3 different matte formulas; matte, creamy matte, and cream to powder matte. I wonder if the shades that were gripping were one of those different textures. For $65, I think every shadow should perform beautifully and you shouldn’t have to alter your technique to make them work. This look is absolutely beautiful and I thank you so much for demonstrating this palette. I thought we may have found the perfect Mauve Girl/Dusty Rose Loving palette but it seems like it fell short. Thank you, as always, for your thoroughness & honesty! 💜

I haven’t stopped using the midi retro since I got it! I just love it! :) it’s so easy to use … I love the monochromatic feel to it. That palette has some new cream to powder formulas that you have to pack on versus blend on if that makes sense. I saw another review that pointed it out and those shades worked much better for that person. The burgundy color you mentioned is one of those shades. Edit: Andrea Matilano (sp) explains the formulas in her review, time stamp is 2:04 if you are interested.
