Disrupt the Food Chain
The ocean teems with life: Use the ecosystem to help you. Lure and distract a threatening creature with a fresh fish, or simply swim as fast as you can to avoid gnashing jaws of roaming predators.
Handle the Pressure
Build a Pressure Re-Active Waterproof Nanosuit, or PRAWN Suit, and explore extreme depth and heat. Modify the suit with mining drills, torpedo launchers, propulsion cannons, grappling hooks and more.
Fear the Night
As the sun goes down, the predators come out. The ocean is unforgiving of those caught unprepared in the darkness. Areas that are safe to explore during the day become treacherous at night, but also reveal a beauty that those who hide from the darkness will never see.
Dive Below the Ocean Floor
Cave systems wind below the sea bed, from dark claustrophobic passages to caverns lit by bio-luminescent life and burning-hot lava flows. Explore the world below the ocean floor, but watch your oxygen levels, and take care to avoid the threats lurking in the darkness.

Sea Emperor Mother's death will always be one of the biggest tragedies in gaming. Even in my other playthroughs, I always mourn her death (not the same as if my dad died or something) and usually stop my playthroughs after curing myself with her childrens' enzymes.

just the fact that all of these people knew what they were jumping into, says a lot about how much everyone has to look up about how to actually progress in this game. It is the biggest problem I have with subnautica is that it really does not make an effort to make you learn the things you have to learn... and whereas that is quite realistic for a survival game, this game has a story, meaning it is not "just" a survival game like one hour one life or something...

Most of them played it in early access it seems. Though when I played I scrounged up all the data entries on the way down so I knew that the Sea Emperor was in that last facility. It took way too long to find a way to the last area but I'd say the datapads give you a good idea of what to expect.

That is also quite unfortunate to hear, to be quite honest. I myself am not able to afford the game currently but this game looks like it has a story gameplay that I could get into, especially with dlc-s coming. I mostly do like games that do not hold your hand and you need to get through it yourself, which Subnautica is a hybrid of; it holds your hand to an extent but not enough to carry you through, and I love watching most content for it simply for that reason. (and no, I have not watched a single playthrough till the finish yet because I saw so many things out of order before so... I sort of ruined it for myself...)

I finished the game yesterday and I thought I might find a big creature somewhere but had no idea this was it. Or at least when I landed on the pad. When she came up there I was like holy crap! and just stood still. When she said are you here to play I knew she was passive. Well if you look at Mark's video its not the full release and you can tell by two different things one is the obvious Early Access in the upper right corner and the dialog from the Sea Emperor is different from Jack's where he got. You want to know something interesting? The Sea Emperor Leviathan was voiced by Lani Minella, aka, Rouge the Bat's voice actor. She's also voiced Happy the Humble Heifer from Happy's Humble Burger Farm (she also voiced herself in that game too), and Nyanlathotep, aka Auntie Nyan Nyan, from both Sucker For Love games.
