I like Chael but he is forgetting a huge factor. Brock was severely ill during the time that he actually lost matches. That was not the real Brock Lesnar. However, he is much older now so we don't know how that has effected him either. However, we have seen him vs. Hunt and Brock thoroughly dominated him despite everyone thinking Hunt would knock him out based on Brock's "proven" weak chin. So, we finally get a healthy but older version of the Beast.

I believe Cormier is a winnable fight for Brock. The key to victory in my opinion is pressing Cormier up against the cage and securing double legs in that position. Pressing Cormier up against the cage shouldn't be a problem since he'll have a 70 lbs weight advantage, and looking at the way Lesnar power lifted Mark Hunt with double legs up against the cage, I don't believe Cormier will be able to stop those; he's just too small. Brock will be able to use that 81 inch reach to lock his hands around Cormier's waste, and I don't believe Cormier will be able to do anything to stop Lesnar from power lifting him up and pulling the legs out. Now can Cormier mess up Lesnar on the feet? It's actually tricky because if you noticed in the Mark Hunt fight, Lesnar only threw jabs, and nothing else. He did this because he had no intention of striking, he just used his massive 9 inch reach advantage and knew that Hunt couldn't throw any offense unless he closes distance, and closing distance makes your shots more telegraphed, and this makes it much easier for Lesnar to tie him up and go to work, and Lesnar would have the same 9 or 10 inch reach advantage over Cormier, so I believe the game plan Lesnar used against Mark Hunt would be effective against Cormier as well.

If Brock has been working on his striking and his defence since his last fight because he has time to do so because he only wrestles couple times a year and he mentioned on the lead up to ufc 200 that he’s been working on his skills since he retired. Tbh his Striking defence looked 100 times better in mark hunt fight than his fights against cain and ubereem. So if brock has been smart and has been working on his striking offence and defence since the Hunt fight then I like his chances. He’s a better wrestler than Stipe and Brock is a lot bigger than DC so it could equalise The wrestling and DC is similar age to Brock. DC is the best matchup for Brock Lesnar. Cormier is extremely quick at heavyweight. He'll be able to jump in and out, landing hard jabs and hard overhand rights at will. Watch his second fight against Jones. Jon isn't as large as Brock, but he's very tall. He's also much quicker and a much more diverse and effective striker than Brock. Yet Daniel landed a lot of shots in that fight. I think DC is quick, agile and skilled enough to elude Brock's takedowns, and the result will be Brock pawing at Daniel unsuccessfully while Daniel lands more and more shots on Brock until he turns his back or turtle and gets TKO'd. Let's not forget that the only heavyweight that Brock has looked decent against standing up was the agains and undersized Randy Couture, who he clipped behind the ear and finished. Against legitimate heavyweights he's a fish out of water. And make no mistake, Daniel is a very legitimate heavyweight. Rewatch his work in the Strikeforce Grand Prix if you doubt that.

Brock is physically strong, and athletically gifted. But he never exposes himself to different gyms/fighters in training. Had he started in MMA early, he might have been the very similar to a heavyweight Matt Hughes. Decent boxing, great wrestling, average leg kicks to the legs/body, and great jui jitsu. Matt Hughes had his limits, and he never surpassed them. I would never in a million years expect Matt Hughes to throw spinning roundhouse kicks like Edson Barbosa or to be able to evade strikes and smoothly counter like Anderson Silva. Yeah, I'm pretty sure Lesnar would have had a Matt Hughes-type career. But, as it stands, he sucks at striking, can't throw kicks, and doesn't have the mental fortitude to absorb shots like Hughes. That's just something that comes with actual training with different and talented training partners.

DC was the king of every weight class he was in, Jones beat him that was his only 2 losses and Kane was his friend and thats why he left heavy weight. Please lesner was on top against lesser fighters at a different time. The top 5 can beat him in 2 rounds. Oveream can't get past top 5 to 3 and he beat him. Also DC fought more different styles of fighters than lesner. I would thank this guy would take that into consideration as an ex fight. ✌
