Rambling observations on the future of humankind by a person who has no business telling anyone anything but he does it anyway. Also his glasses were crooked for a full hour and he didn't notice.

ASMR is merely stimulating the sense. I didnt get that part either. There isnt even a clear-cut definition of the term. More importantly, the acronym makes no sense. Id explain why, but most people are delusional and believe "ASMR" is someone beyond human understanding. Its , quite literally, subjective.

There is absolutely no argument when it comes to "Why go to space, when people are starving?!?", because the amount of money used for space programs is basically nothing when it comes to other projects, ie Military, which uses a MASSIVE amount of our money. Look up the percentage that has been used on NASA, its pathetic. Yet, we have used ALL the technology invented by the space program. We spend more money on military that the next 26 nations COMBINED. We need to cut back on all that nonsensical bullshit, and we would STILL, despite cutting back on the $800+ billion a year budget, still be stronger than most, if not all.

Sadly there will always be poverty and starvation. But we won't always be able to go to space, and yes, I believe, colonize Mars. It's better to invest in the long term than investing in short term relief for people.

We have never been on the moon. If we did it in the 60s then we should have valuable data now on how to do it more easily and cheap again with better tech. NASA said all that data got lost....... And even if it is expensive to take the trip think about having HD cameras on the moon that can live stream constantly....that would generate a lot of interest and money. But they haven`t. Because. We were never there, nor is it possible to get there. Also lies about populating Mars, give me a break. The Mars Rovers that we control from Earth....yeah. They are on Earth. The Red Hot Chili Peppers sing this in their song Californication: "Space may be the final frontier but its made in a Hollywood basement." Who owns and run Hollywood and MSM? Those who created Freemasonry. They also gave us feminism, socialism, communism. Trends and systems of destruction that ends in tyranny. A special guy warned us about the Pharisees 2 millennia ago. Now we call them globalists. Soros, Bill Gates, Rockefellers and the Rotschilds. The Rotschild jews got filthy rich by financing and creating wars since Napopleons days. A lot of truth edited out of "official truth." The reason why these sneaky bastards are so powerful and own so much, including youtube, is because they worship the "God of this Earth." He is not the glorified cleaning tranny of Hell yet. NASA is run by masons. Freemasonry = a non-secret secret society. (Jewish, no surprise there) Big Bang is horseshit as well. We are here by design, not random chaos. The designer/architect would be God. Now considered fairy tale by generation entitled millenials and generation smart phone. Tech that makes people lazy and slow in the head. Many "religions" have good stories, of morals, good vs evil, tragedy etc. But only the Bible is prophetic. Talmud is the shadow Bible of Lucifer. The creatures who are not human worships it. Those with the seed of Cain, the halfbreed bastard. Contaminated blood unwanted by God.

Samuel Edwords I sympathize - I, too, have unexpected movie/parent trauma. I went to see Top Gun with my mom when I was 10 because it was advertised as an action movie. Turns out right in the middle there’s 30 minutes of “Take My Breath Away” playing during one of the longest, sweatiest, most cringeworthy love scenes ever committed to celluloid.

This was a really interesting discussion on the topic. I especially enjoyed the section where you discussed some of the ethical issues that the emergence of AI would create. If a creature has sentience, should it still be considered a possession simply because its form is mechanical instead of biological? So many things to think about around this topic. Great vid as always! 😊

4:45 reminded me of something Neil deGrasse Tyson said when it came to people questioning about spending money 'down here' (on Earth) where we have the problems? "When the Asteroid comes, you're gonna wish we had spent money 'up there' to know how to deflect the Asteroid." Of course I concentrate on the a few moments spent on talking about Astrophysics. Possible topic for the next 'Lets Prognosticate!'....(Also the title of this is great...sounds like Frasier Crane running a lets play lol).

The budgetary resources for things like space exploration may not be interchangeable with domestic terrestrial expenses, but public willpower as it translates to political capital, certainly is. The working class public only has so much time and, as you can imagine, lobbying their elected representatives for space exploration funding takes a back seat when income inequality hits gilded age levels and millions are struggling to afford rent/food/healthcare/student loans.

I have Michio Kaku's new book "The Future of Humanity" on my to-read list but I'm always wary about speculation, no matter how deep-rooted in science and fact the ideas may be. They still depend on humanity actually trying to push forward, and I feel like we've made less progress in moving forward than we ever have, throughout time. I used to be in awe with what we were doing. Now I stand back and watch all of us staring into our phones. Is this supposed to be a stepping stone? Or is this a sinkhole and we're forgetting what we're supposed to be doing? Difficult to think aloud and write as I'm listening to you, but long story short, I'm curious... but not hopeful (for immediate futurism to begin occurring). I feel politics has taken the forefront of our consciousness, and nothing promotes a complete standstill more than politics. Science has been overshadowed and red-taped to the detriment of our progress.
@Captain-Sum.Ting-Wong
@Captain-Sum.Ting-Wong 6 жыл бұрын
We're still making advancements at a breakneck pace. New inventions and improvements are made daily, you just have to be paying attention. And what do you mean we aren't pushing forward? We've made more progress (technologically at least) in the last 30 years than the rest of human history beforehand.

Honestly Artificial Intelligence scares me more than anything in the world because it will inevitably be the end of us all whether things go full on Terminator or not; they could co-exist with us perfectly forever but that wouldn’t change anything because natural selection would kill us off slowly anyway. We wouldn’t need to work anymore, we wouldn’t need to try or do anything anymore because it could do it for us but then what do we become without the need to improve and excel? We’d become lazy, less creative, less individual, less important. That new app grammerly may not be Artificial Intelligence but it is already rendering skilled writers useless since it basically writes whatever your writing for you. I could go on forever but my point is that a lack of a need to improve will result in us ceasing our improvement and weakening both physically and mentally.

With the myriad uses of AI and the continued development of it, I do find myself content that I work in a field (Baking) that would be hard pressed to use sentient AI systems on a practical "hands on" way. I do recognize that it is possible at some point AI would be able to complete most of the same tasks as I do now. Most of that aside the introduction of sentient AI is heading towards a point of scary planned obsolescence.

The space pen thing is a great story, but not a true story. There IS a zero gravity pressurised space pen, but it was developed independently by pen maker Paul Fisher, on his own initiative, and at his own expense. Astronauts on both sides of the Pacific originally used pencils, but these were problematic because of the detritus that ended up in the air, and the fact of their flammability. Once available, the space pen was adopted by both US and Russian space programmes to replace pencils.

Most I speak without about AI seem to have this "Terminator" thing in mind. Thats not the AI we need to worry about. It wont be androids being maids one day, and our master the next. AI is already far superior to us in intelligence, thats without question. The more advanced AI teaches itself. The very best we have, who deal with AI, fail to understand even the very basics, ie the languages they create. I HIGHLY disagree with the stupid idea people have put out there over the years, suggesting we ought not meddle in that which we do not understand. That is HOW we understand, by messing with things. Is it possible that its going to blow up in our faces? Of course. Had we not meddled around, we'd still be playing with our asses on the plains of Africa. Anyone who ever suggests we shouldnt mess with without makes us curious is an idiot. Edit: I just realized I already remarked on this. I do enjoy your talks, quite a bit. I couldnt sleep so I searched for something calming. Then, laying there, deciding I needed something with some depth, so, here I am.
