First time seeing this game, and wow it looks great (and difficult)! I love that it has competent AI and no additional UI that you wouldn't see in a real race. And the graphics are amazing for the time. Also superb commentary.

Incredible video. I have raced thousands of laps in GPL. I used to race with several different groups. Most notable was Speedgeezers. They are a community that is heavily dedicated to GPL and its "offspring" of mods. Watching this video has now rekindled my fondness for GPL. Having since raced GP Legends, GTR, GTR2, Race 07 and all of its variations, LFS, and many more. I even lowered myself to play a console game (PS3 GT5). The Ring they have is awesome.

Nice driving! Your car, even with the cold tires handled really well! I sold my GPL about 7 years ago, and regret it every day. Lots of user input into this old but goodie, still looks great! I really like the new car models, and new resolutions! I gotta buy this again... Thanks

I have to say it, that's insane!! The 70's had some amazing stuff happening, even for a neophyte like me. Just as well, I guess - my installation is glitchy as hell (I'm emulating it on a Mac). Great vids, anyhow.

It's actually a game mechanic, raising fists means that the car has a problem. So other drivers can see why you slow down.

Bro I was always mad for GT/F1/rally simulation games on PC. I like to think I was decent at Grand Prix 3, Johnny Herbert Grand prix'98, Colin McRae Rally 2, MotoGP2, Race Driver 1 (TOCA) and Sportscar GT. I never played GP Legends cuz it didn't work on my PC, but I just wanted to congratulate you on the videos !! Great stuff, man, keep it up ! All the best from Romania.

Only problem I'm having is with the overseer with my T80 thrustmaster. I have it on green sensitivity which is suppose to be neutral.if you have a solution let me know. Thanks

I have to say I'm enjoying the crap out of your race series. So many times I've found I'm clenching my fists and heart racing during some of the passes. Nurbergring was awesome! So was the last race around that short modified oval.

To be fair if the first contact with the car in front is with your left rear, it really was your fault. Sadly you can't see where the rear left tyre ended up - you just see it disappear vertically.

What sort of graphical update do you have for this game? It looks like the update from the 2004 Demo but the full version I just got looks nothing like that even after installing the beta 1.04 version. Thank you for any help you can provide for me. Enjoying the vids!

I'm running it in my Windows installation at the moment. It's hilarious - the framerate does this 'orrible slow thing, but if I start recording with FRAPS it runs super smooth.

Unfortunately not. There is some kind of unspoken rule about 70s content in the GPL community. I don't think we'll ever see a 70s F1 mod for it.

Nope, GPLaps is correct. The 71 mod is CAN AM, not F1 ... very distinct and subject to different licensing.

I'm really enjoying yours videos. But IMO overtaking at Lesmo 2 is a mistake.It cost you too much speed witch is letting others to get away from you and brake the slipstream. It's actually better to stay behind a slower car and pass him on straight.

The community made a new, more accurate version of Monza (monza67), and apart from looking amazing and having better geometry, the AI thankfully don't do that any more.

Yeah, your fault there, he left the door open but you had too much speed and got over-steer hitting him with the back of your car. Maybe you jumped too eagerly at the chance. I bet a little part inside you wanted to play that again but you took it like a man and went to the next race.
