I am so impressed with the way you present all the history that is represented in your GP Legends events. I am 78 years old. I started sim racing around 1990 and have been involved ever since. I find your work so special as you recreate racing history in a way that make me appreciate the opportunity all sim racers have to virtually experience what we have always fantasized about - what it's like to race in these fantastic cars and hear your thinking as you take us on a quite realistic experience from a drivers point of view. No one else does it like you. I'm a devoted fan and look forward to every event you share with us. Keep up this great work!

Maan, so many years have passed. I remember reading about this in an old IT magazine with my cousin back in the day, they were calling it " the most realistic simulation of all time". I didn't have the equipment back than, I didn't have the money for a gaming peripheral, let alone PC. But we were so young and enthusiastic about everything. Now I have a decent PC with a decent wheel, I have all the available sims in my Steam library, but my cousin and his family don't want to talk to me and my folks anymore due to some idiotic financial disputes. Life is so short and sad.

I heard somwhere that Bandini was a consultant on the movie and that he was the one to suggest the Monaco chicane crash scene. The same place Bandini would die in a crash the next year. Not sure if that's true of course, it could all be mythmaking after the fact.

As usual, amazing job and a lot of information. Btw, I'm wondering if there are some information about which tyre brand was better in the 60s, Firestone or GoodYear?
@GPLaps2 жыл бұрын
thats a good question, tire development was at a fast pace. Don’t forget Dunlop too who actually provided the most tires. I know the width of tires especially at the rear was increasing. And slicks were already starting to be carried over from drag racing to formula cars in the US, although it would be a few years until they appeared in f1
