As a Czech I'm very disappointed by this choice this year. I was so sure that MYDY would win but they were 3rd? Also the huge difference between the amount of votes of the contestants is very odd 🙁

Czechia chose Elly by a huge margin Aiko won thanked to the international votes ... and the system of escz sucks, the czech people only have 30% power on the final results. The delegation must send Elly internally for esc 2025, it would be a shame if they don't! + don't forget Aiko have 5 months to practise, and If bejba could improve, Aiko could too.

It is clear from the results someone messed with the results of Elly in the Czech Republic and with the results of Aiko outside of Czech Republic. You could vote infinite times with an VPN. Which clearly some folk did probably in combination with bots.

Blanka wasn’t as bad as Aiko. I honestly don’t trust the results we were given.

Not everyone who struggled with vocals could improve, yes, Blanka did (the issues with her were probably more due to singing while doing an excessive choreography, which partially was even that compatible with singing), but others like Reiley, the Dutch couple, Mae, or Pia Maria and Andromache in 2022 couldn't improve, while Wild Youth or Ronela in 2022 sounded even worse than in their pre-selections. It's not a given that she's able to improve, at first, she needs talent to be able to improve, otherwise, she can train as much as she wants to, but won't get any better. Anyway, I still hope, she's gonna improve and am wishing the best for her.

Girl... Czechia can not vote for themselves in the competition, only *international fans* will be able to vote for them, so if anything, the best strategy to hope for a good result by May was to give the bigger power to the same people who will be voting in the actual competition. Benny Cristo won by a landslide in Czechia and that didn't stop him from getting zero points from the public lol. I know y'all probably don't care about any of this, but the delegation is spending money, of course they're gonna follow whatever strategy feels like the most beneficial financially.

Czech people chose Elly as she got the most votes from the Czech Republic by far. But it was the international votes that extremelly supported Aiko so in the end it was Aiko who won the selection.

@@TheManInBlueFlames Then look at the official results: in the Czech Republic Aiko was only 5th, Elly won by a lot - 4 times more votes than the 2nd place (Mydy). But Aiko got the most votes from the rest of the world. There is only very few esc fans that actually keep writing comments. Look at the whole amount of votes all together, you can't judge 100+ k votes by only few dozens of comments on KZbin. I wish you were right tho. Both Elly or Mydy would be my choice.

Oh, I am shocked and ashamed to hear and glad this. Beautiful that Elly was appreciated, but such a shame, that it's the international fans fault. As it is ESC Czech, it should be in Czechs hands and not ours. I voted for Elly and Tom Sean by the way, MYDY was my third, Aiko unfortunately my second last. I'm not sure how she could win with this live performance, although I like the song.

Czech fans are very suspicious of the results and personally, I'm not really happy about our representative this year. I mean, Pedestal is a great studio track, but the live performance is absolutely tragic and I'm hoping Aiko will do a LOT of work and progress to sell the song in May. Let's see...

IMHO the reason for why she won was the voting system absolutely sucked balls, so much that it should even be redone. It was possible to send any number of votes to each contestant, without any verification and protection against abuse of the voting system, apparently all it took was to refresh your incognito window. + The voting application was so stupidly made that if someone wanted to open and listen to all the artists in turn and then cast their vote, they automatically marked Aiko without wanting to and unfortunately it couldn't be changed. Aiko herself said on her instagram in the comments that if this is true, then why didnt the other contestants/people vote for themselves a milion times. It absolutely boggles my mind that Aiko could get 33 thousand votes and MYDY got only 7k internationally without misusing this flaw. Same thing in the domestic vote where Elly got 24k votes and second MYDY got 6k

I think Aiko/Pedestal are fine, the chorus is catchy and it's gotten stuck in my head a few times, but I don't think it will qualify. Elly or MYDY were clearly better choices imo, I really don't get how Aiko won

Y'all expected a melodifestivalen quality NF on a budget of 5 euros and a pack of gum...The votes were collected through the EBUs Eurovision app. If you wanted to rig the competition that's probably not the way to go about it. Also they could have just selected her internally rather than wasting money, resources and time on a NF. Maybe just maybe people walked away from the NF realizing that nearly all the vocals were bad beside MYDY and watched the studio cuts and decided that Aiko's was the best. Especially when people had a week to decide. Even if the vote was 50/50 Aiko still would have won. We can have a discussion about the voting format and changes that need to be made, and it would be totally valid, but claiming that it would change anything is just not right. I ask all the Czechs in the comments why exactly you believe your delegation, who has had plenty of good results even with the meager resources they get, would rig the competition. What do they stand to gain? I am genuinely curious. Edit: Also I just want to point out that Aiko's song had been release for well over a month before the NF even took place. The other six songs were either leaked a couple days before or not at all. That may have been a factor in the ways people voted. Speaking from experience when I saw the announcement of which artist would be competing I went out of my way and listened to the other songs the artist had produced. To get a sense of what they may bring and their musical styles. Since Pedestal had been released well before the show I had actually heard it before I even knew it was the song she had submitted for the NF. So personally I really liked the song before I even knew what she would be singing. So I'm just throwing it out there that because her song was released early some people may have heard it before the NF and liked it from the get go and voted for it regardless of her live performance

I haven’t followed the Czech selection at all and I firstly only listened to the studio version of pedestal and I love it, but performancewise I can understand everybody who thinks MYDY was better. She has some time to improve now too so stay calm!

The results make NO sense! MYDY or Tom Sean should have won. They had the best songs, MYDY had the definitive performance, whilst Tom had the most unique and catchiest song that could have done well. There were MULTIPLE problems with the voting system - you could vote multiple times on a private browser and people were finding that Aiko was the first person they were on and that was registering automatically as a vote for her! Also, 20,000 MARGIN?! You cannot convince me that happened unless ESCZ hired Aiko supporters or bought the votes themselves. Aiko certainly didnt win the International vote - look at Wiwibloggs and these comments sections - they all wanted MYDY, Tom or Elly.

Judging the song as it is now Its going to need to be in the last third of countries to perform if it is going to be any chance of winning. A revamp could change things but I prefered pretty much all of them. The way czechias National Final works is its 30% czech vote and 70% international votes. So its essentially the international vote that decides who czechia send. I wonder if there has been some sabotage. I cant make too much of a case of that happening because none of the songs were that good and it is the international votes the need to win anyway. I understand why the voting is the way it is but is it the best strategy. I guess we will see. Hopefully it improves

I'm glad this won. It was the only song I liked. Yes, the live was messy, but I'd rather take a good, fun song with a bad performance and hope she will improve, than to take a mediocre song with a good performance. You look at the live performance and judge it for what it is, I look at the studio version and judge it for what it can be.

Female version of Jann from Poland...and juries weren't there to prevent her from winning. So cringey, no melody, no talent in sound or singing, cringey movements (and just like her male version, she's thinking, they make her appear sexy). The song isn't catchy and altogether, it's just a hot mess. Ykkes, if only Czech people could vote, Elly would have won, just like Blanka ladt year, with a catchy song and bad vocals, but still a chance to improve. But Aiko, just like Jann, is a mess, who's never gonna learn how to sing. And yes, Mydy wee also my favorite, they had the most memorable song and good vocals.
