I totally agree that bookshelf organizing is such a therapeutic process! ❤️ It’s one of my fave things to do and I can spend hours on it. As for my organization style, it’s hard to explain but I definitely focus heavily on height and color coordination. Not always rainbow, but more like vibe (black/white, blue/red, pastel, warm tones, etc)🧍🏽‍♀️It doesn’t always make it easy to find a book, but I do know, for the most part, where everything is 😌 However, when I run out of space, it can be a free for all 😂

I’m a simple gal, all of my books are organized by author’s last name. Though! This year I switched it up a bit and have one bookshelf for all of my tbr books, and I’ve separated the middle grade/ya from the adult.

I wish I was more willing to give different organization styles a try lol. The only shelf I have that doesn’t fit my alphabetical system is my Lord of the Rings shelf (I have too many copies lol).

Beautiful shelves, Mel! I organize my shelves in a very similar same way. GENRE, then AGE (middle-grade/YA/adult), then HEIGHT (keeping authors and series together), and wouldn't have it any other way.🧍‍♀😊

I have Kallax shelves and my go to is theme wise. Each cube section has its own theme. Most of them are fantasy or queer literature. However, it makes it fun for me to organise. I think of getting a smaller one for my bed side to finally find enough space for my manga too

I’m a pretty practical girly 😂 I basically go from Left to right, like how I typically read, and by genre and age, it begins with Young adult fantasy, Young Adult Contemporary, Middle grade fantasy, middle grade contemporary, Adult Fantasy, Adult contemporary, Adult Historical fiction, and all alphabetized by authors last name, and then my BOTM books in rainbow style at the tail end 😂 I have the occasional thriller and mystery book in different age groups but not enough to give it a categorized section lol.
