when browsing for books to read, i always look for book reviews. this year has certainly brought up some great and not so great reads but i've found some favorite books nonetheless. that is why i bring you the show me a book tag that quickly turned into a very chatty video about the books i've read recently and me losing my mind over some of the new book releases of 2024 and some popular book releases. booktube and bootkok have buzzed about some of these books… but did i enjoy them? i hope you guys enjoy this one and come out with more books to add to your TBR and some good book recommendations for 2024!

@@hallewhy Really? I recently read Powerless and I don’t remember him talking about it a lot or them making a big deal about it. He’s only 6 years older and they don’t get together until she’s 28 and he’s 34. Cade and Beau on the other hand, they made it feel really weird with the age gaps, in my opinion. Bailey is even younger than Willa I think. 😅 But maybe i forgot something that happened in Powerless!

If you want a fairytale book I would suggest cinder by Marissa Meyer. It’s retellings of fairytales set in space. They are so good! If you want one that’s not a direct fairytale retelling but seams like one I would say an enchantment of ravens it is so good! I’d also suggest six crimson cranes it is a retelling of the sawn princess story. But it is so good!

for peak studio ghibli vibes I'd highly recommend A Thousand Steps Into Night by Traci Chee! the author has literally said she was inspired by Spirited Away, and having read the book, it really shows in the best way
