Thank you so much! I was to fix the switch itself too. I cleaned the insides of the switch and bent one of the metal pieces a bit so it made better contact. Worked flawlessly!

Thanks for the information, never thought about just replacing the broken one with one that isn't used much. Broke my S key gaming too hard!

Awesome work. Seems like a really easy fix for that expensive keyboard. Any thoughts on making a video on soldering tips? (no pun intended)

I would like to learn soldering too, but I heard that you have to watch out for the fumes when doing this
@Ice-tr2gf2 жыл бұрын
@@joshuahonguyen3089 I just wear a mask while doing this. If you ever used glue gun in middle school for art projects, it's basically the same idea except the hot gun and glue are two separate things in this case.

Hi great video, my keyboard is broken unfortunately and I can't find any videos of up close look at the motherboard of the keyboard, one of my zener diodes fried and it wont turn on. Would you be able to take a picture of the back of the keyboard board around the power cable area. I want to know what zener diode went there, so I can replace it. Thanks for any help if you can help me with that.

I found another one so I'm good now.

I hate how my G910 Orion started failing right after the warranty term. I paid for premium and got less than cheap. By now most keys either double register or not at all. Even the keys never used. Could you suggest compatible switches that don't fail like this and will actually last years? I would enjoy replacing all of them. They keyboard is "like new" but lives in a closet...
@DIYNexus2 жыл бұрын
I've seen some aftermarket Romer-G replacements on Amazon but can't verify that they'll last longer than the originals. It's worth a try though! If you give it a try, stop back and let us know please.

I've got a G910 Orion Spectrum that's been having issues with double-inputs for about a year, but it's not localized to just one key or bad switch I don't think. Loads of different keys have been affected, some more than others, and at this point I don't think there are enough "spare" switches on the board for me to swap them all. And since it seems that the problem might crop up anywhere at any time, it seems like Sisyphean task to start swapping them around. I really love the G910 and have had mine for about 7 years as of writing this, but at this point I find that I have little choice but to replace it. Doing a bit of research, it seems that the double-input problem has been fairly significant with this particular model. There are plenty of complaints about it online and no fixes that seem to really work. Hence I'd advice everyone to carefully consider whether or not to start investing in refurbishing your G910's, as they seem particularly prone to breakdowns and bugs.

Yeah, I found this video after experiencing the same issue on the very same keyboard. Its mulltiple keys now that are just inputting when I am not even pressing or appear to be multi pressing. I've had mine for about 2 years, so its not really that old I feel, but for the price I paid for it I am not very happy about it which is a shame, because I do really like this keyboard otherwise.

I have the same keyboard with a few of the G keys broken off or stuck completely probably stepped on the keyboard. One day I'll try this but not sure how or what I need to solder besides the soldering gun I already have. What else is he using?

I used a soldering iron, a cheapo desoldering pump, some thin electronics solder and a small amount of flux. If you need more help with the process itself, check out this tutorial from 'oneTesla' kzbin.info/www/bejne/h6HWaqqliqyerKs

@@DIYNexus Also does the solder need rosin built in to the wire?

@@davidm71 60W is a bit high but will certainly work. I'd be careful to not linger too long on any part of the board or you may overheat it. I think you'll be good with what you have.
@DIYNexus Жыл бұрын
@@davidm71 The one I used in the video is 60/40 Rosin-core solder. It's what I use for all my electronics projects. I'm sure that everyone will have a different opinion about it, so feel free to try what you have.

Is this a common issue for this keyboard? I have the same keyboard with mulltiple keys now not working properly. I would need to get myself a soldering kit to fix this which is pretty annoying.

My F1 key on my ~6yo Logitech G305 carbon started acting up, which is weird because it's a key I seldom use. The repair doesn't look too bad but I think I can live with a faulty F1 key for now lol

The g910 is 100% a mechanical keyboard. It uses logitechs older G-Romer switches. The only membrane keys are the programming ones up top
