Let's Restore The Clear Coat On My C7 Corvette.....Part 2!!!

This is the SECOND segment of a series restoring and correcting blemishes on the clear coat of a C7 Corvette stingray. What makes this correction unique...is it has already been corrected. It was done very carelessly. This time around I will do it correctly and with great caution as to leave behind as much clear coat as possible. Follow along as almost everyone will come across this problem in one form or another.

alberto.in the summer time i used consumer ceramic coat and bought from croftgate usa uk. we are now in winter rain leave are falling.i had few days mud and bird poop this morning went to the coin wash use the high pressure and its gone very easy after the winter start from scratch we kids need to play ^ _ ^ i have a Opel a 2016 edition we where part of general motors i have silver metallic just wonder what for paint i have since 1 or 2 years since short Opel is part of Peugeot and Citroen group what for paint will have the Opel line as the new Corsa build under the Peugeot Citroen group

Such a good project for this top tier coating. Double up on each layer and you will have great protection. Now you don't want to use oil zero or any panel wipe after using total one essential polish. You want to keep all the Si02 bonding agents intact. Climax is shown on the website but is pro grade and each box goes out at my discretion. It is currently $388.99 for the kit. Each bottle is 50ml. 100% quartz Si02. You won't find a better display case either. The blue engraved light up key chain is a elegant touch also. Any questions please ask but you got this. I coated an Aston Martin with Tac System Climax and I was really unimpressed with its application and user experience. Was very hard to remove which made scratches on the perfect paint which had to be polished again and have this process repeated until lucking out and having no scratches. Even on application there would be micro crystals from the bottle that would get on the applicator even being super careful and cleaning the applicator, which would cause scratching and marring. Not sure if I got a bad kit or not, but I was left less than impressed.

Anytime. The base layer was super thick like syrup or something, due to super high concentration of SiO2 and not enough solvent/transfer solution, and it is what proved to be more difficult. It was hard to get it nicely spread out and even. The top layer was a bit better, though I find Kenzo to be Much Much nicer to apply. Hope your experience is better.

I owned a black truck once... never again - way too much work to keep it looking good. White is also off my list for the opposite reason, you spend all day detailing it but in the end it looks no different. I assume at some point you’ll cover getting the C7 exhaust tips super shiny if you have the NPP option on the car. Could have just removed the targa and worked it on a bench / table, then no masking or product on the rubber.

Question - Did you do another pass with 3D One between 10:43-10:45 in the video? It looks like a lot of that hazing and scratching in the upper part of the pillar disappeared before the final polish?

When it comes to foam pads...I like Buff and Shine. One ounce Angelwax Cleanliness...one ounce Power Clean in my Marolex Foamer...with warm water.

I am a amateur enthusiast with a 12' Corvette Grand Sport (Inferno Orange) I have already spent Significant money with Auto Geek buying ALOT of Products. As I already have bought JESCAR Correction Compound / MF Pads (and used it successfully on my Vette) do you have serious problem with me not using 3D 500 ACA for my 1st step corrections. I also already own Menzerna (old bottle) 4000 ..new bottle 3500 and CARPRO Essence / RUPES 4" Yellow which I used both for 2nd Step (on Vette)....I now have Purchased SONAX Perfect Finish and Collinite 845...........along with most every pad you have.....Your thoughts and reply ????...........I also have 3" TriZact 3000 & 5000 Discs which Ive used on my PC7424 DA (probably a No-No??) Youre fast motion Video makes it look like you were pretty aggressive in moving the 3000 TriZact around.....???

He isnt applying any pressure with trizact,just a back an forth motion to take the edges off the scratch so its easier to polish

No need to order any more. You have what you need right there. When you say corrections...with an s....how many of them are you doing may I ask. I would recommend not making a habbit of polishing over and over. Instead...perfect your clear once...then practice proper wash and after care technique to preserve. 🙂
