Is that segment from Roosevelt to the green line track open for normal service? I thought it was an old route.

I heard a train announcement inbg there somewhere about shuttle buses to the Dan Ryan Line, so I assume this was a reroute due to track work on that line. This was a bit nostalgic for me. On my first visit to Chicago in the 1960s, all South Side service was via that connection. The elevated line from the Loop south was not in revenue service. The Loop ran counterclockwise on both tracks, "the inner loop" and "the outer loop". And it was a pretty lonely place: outside of the rush hour, there were only two services: Lake Street and what is now the Brown Line. Skip-stop service was everywhere. Things certainly have changed.
