As Sand started explaining the new plan, staying in town and building up with the Shek Kingdoms as opposed to the Shinobi Thieves, Park couldn't help but feel slightly uncomfortable. He saw the looks that he in particular got. He'd been enslaved, defeated, his horns shaved off (Which, among his kind, was a grave dishonor,) and he was only just now remembering his old skills as a warrior. "Back? Yew'd got out 'v that faughole an' yew wanna go back?" Hobbs, the crazy old human (that he still had reservations about) quietly said, grabbing Park's attention. Sand held up a hand in placation. "Yeah, it sounds crazy, I know. Believe me, I know. But I can't just leave it be. I want to break the others out of Rebirth. No one deserves the conditions they force." Park... Had no idea what to say. Yeah, he shared the sentiment, but exactly how was he planning on doing that? Sand shook his head then. "Besides, we left someone behind in that escape attempt, didn't we Park?" Park shuffled nervously in his seat. "Ribs? I saw her go down, but she didn't get back up. You even sure she's alive?" Sand shrugged. "What's it matter? Rebirth needs to go. We'll need time, and kats. But eventually we're gonna take the fight to the holy bastards, and all those slaves 're gonna flock to our banner." Park gave him a look, remembering quite clearly the Hiver who wanted no part in the escape attempt. Sand gave a sheepish grin, "Okay, okay, MOST of them. But still, it'll do so serious damage to their pride if we do it. Again, long-term plan. For now we just do what we do best, and get more kats. And others to help, but," Sand smirks, "with kats comes fame, with fame comes followers. We'll figure out a way to do this, just trust me." Park thought for a moment, before shrugging. "Sounds like a plan. But we'll need a base." Sand grinned, "It just so happens that there's some land up for grabs in the city..."

I think Sand would never have seen a book up close before, i like to think Hobbs teaches Sand to read by the campfire at night time. Sand only ever knowing slavery a pick and stone mining wants to learn, to exercise the brain to learn strategy, warfare, and most importantly know his enemy. Also using what he already knows, mining to get the strength and condition to take the fight to the Holy nation.

On the other hand Sand might have seen many books in his past. Rather, he may have seen many copies of one particular book, The Holy Flame. Sand might despise books as his only experience with them have been when paladins recite from them during beatings

The stone processor can't be inside, it's like building a house, much like a mine. So it has to be outside. tbh the best place to build it is right next to your stone mine, because stone chunks are utterly huge, but building materials are small, so you can just pull the stone out, put it directly into the processor, and then just carry the materials back.

Also, his building is public because that is the default state. It has nothing to do with him not having a door. You need to click the box that says Public n it will change to private.

Why not dismantle your stone processor and rebuild it next to you stone mine, (you get building materials back when you dismantle things ) it would be a lot more efficient, that said I think you are doing a great job with Kenshi it’s a very complex game with a lot of things to get your head around but well worth the hours of time that you have to put into it to become a half decent player

It's heartwarming to watch our proteges rising from escaping ex-slaves, struggeling to survive, stealing and sneaking around in order to meet another day, to finding finally some space for their own, trading, mining, building their own home :) I can't wait for another episode, please keep them comming! :D

If this helps, You could hire then leave 2 or even one person in Squin (They will pay for themselves in no time) Then build one or two Copper storage chests, Then simply tell your new slav.. *AHEM* I mean.. Volunteers to work then store copper then sell when full. In one of my runs I basically ran a Copper Co. out of the city Stack because they pay around 104% for Copper AND there is a copper node inside the city itself so its a great place to keep people working and selling safely.. if your don't mind a few religious woman hating zealots now and again. Now that you have your own constant flow of cats, your free to explore and level your fighters. Don't gotta take my advice but like I said if it helps then I'm happy.

In fact, he might be able to bail out some "friends" from Squin police. I.e. you can sometimes bail out various hungry bandits, dust bandits and whatever is in the jail and they might join you for cheap.

There are some big similarities in feel to fallout 1 and 2. Its obviously different, but its similar enough that if you liked fo1 and 2 youll probably like this

One thing to watch out for if you are planning on making your own settlement, raids will become pretty frequent so it would be a good idea to get a lot of defences and animals to stop bandits/holy nation etc

i would only make a settlement if i knew pheonix got merk'ed so hard that the raiders from fallout are jealous because he was killed by a small army and not some woman with a mac-10 and a wierd electric hunting rifle (i play with skillzerk weapons) and a makeshift shotgun (i miss my inflametory one) and the preston garvey, wearing a raider harness, random armour peices, and weilding a litteral minigun (ahh fallout, how i love thee)

The whole time you were building the stone mine and processor across the entire open area I was thinking, "aren't you going to get raided or attacked" - then Band of Bones shows up. I've never thought anyone would do this.

I love this series Rycon. It actually made me get Kenshi. Thats like the 4th game ive gotten because of you! We have very similar taste in games it seems. Ive gotten Rimworld, Xcom2, kenshi and one other i cant seem to remember. Id love to see Sand and Park eventually build up an army and their own free city where trade and well living thrives, and then see them take down the holy nation and free the slaves from rebirth.

The way station south of Squin is usually packed with building materials

The time you are spending stone mining would really be better put to use by copper mining. Building materials are cheap. The waystation just to the west of Squin usually has ample supplies of both building materials and iron plates, its just a short trip. There is also a regular visit to Squin by a nomad trader (you have to keep an eye out for him and his pack animals) who spends the night in the Bar. He has 50 each of building materials and iron plates for sale. Also your stone mine will be attacked regularly (as it is considered an outpost) by band of Bones and Dust Bandits.

Waystations are usually full of materials (building, iron plates, etc.). Making a trip there would be worthwhile. You can rename your outpost (Stone Mine, for example) by clicking where it says ‘Outpost’ on the bottom right of the screen. It’s nice to see you are making all the same mistakes as I did when I started playing Kenshi. Hiring 4-5 goons and setting them on mining is always a good idea - pretty soon they will be earning you more money than they are eating up. I imagine pretty soon Sand and the rest of the boys will be running their own squads, and in my opinion, that will not water down the experience/characters at all. I enjoy your series, keep up the good work!

@@jetsnakeboy4090 There's a lot of details that effect character models. Rycon explains he made Sand to be quite big, but the lack of food while in Rebirth thinned him up a fair bit. He's bulking back up with the food, plus additional increases to his stats. The reason he kicks if off at day 14 is because he was basically letting the game run in the daytime while Sand was doing his chores to build athletics, strength and labouring, then working on his stealth, lockpicking and thevery at night. He was going to explain this, but then got sidetracked by action in game.

Just wanted to tell you, Rycon, I am loving the videos! Also, just in case you haven't already figured this out (I'm only halfway through the video) shops will NOT restock if you have a character standing inside of them. They also seem to restock every 24 in-game hours. Some unique ones are more like 48 hours. Just wanted to let you know, Rycon. Keep up the good work, man!

I have not used it; but, there is a mod to facilitate bases within a city and I believe one of the things it allows is for smaller stone processors and other things like that to be built within a purchased building.

The longhouse does not have straight vertical walls. This means your equipment will conflict with the building as the walls are built at an angle.

A good cheap way to train armor making is to turn animal skins from animals you kill to leather. Head over to Vain and hang out in hive villages, soon enough some beak things will come running to fight you and the hivers will kill it for you (sometimes it takes a little for them to aggro on to it) and you can loot the beak things for lots of meat, skins and rotten meat (for you animals). A barrel full of animal skins will go a long way to train your armorer. Plus, you can use the leather for armor production! Other than that, the least painful way to train armor and sword production is to queue whatever armor or weapon take the longest to make on repeat. Armor and weapon making is trained over time alone, don't matter the type, material or quality, time only. An item that take an hour to make have the same material requirement as one that take 13 so you save a lot of cats and micro managing this way (if you smith in the city, outside you can automate a lot if). Only other consideration is value of the created object, an hour less is fine if you get double the value back. Couple of small notes. Hobbs is a scorchlander and thus have a penalty to cooking. It means he is gonna improve it slower, not that it matter much tough, since the only thing cooking skill does is affect the speed he cooks. Hobbs as a scorchlander have bonuses to weapon and armor smiting, so he would a great choice for that (of course, being a unique recruit you might loose out on some unique dialog if you leave him home all the time to smith) . Oh, and of smallest consideration; cooking (and science) skill visually decreases muscle definition while smiting improves it, so if you want some gains and turn you characters into absolute units make sure you only let those that you are okay with being thin and frail looking do science and cooking. Lastly, if you want to recover the default look after being enslaved, i.e. regrow your hair and horns, a quick trip to the plastic surgeon will restore it. You don't have to chance anything in the looks, just go and accept. Edit1: And a good way to source building materials and other stuff for Squin is to get a wooden or trader packpack (it allows you to stack trade goods) and run down to the waystation to the south and buy up their stocks. Edit2: And if you gonna sell of copper, place the storage close to a wall where there is a shop. Then you can to the shop and talk with the shopkeeper and sell directly from the storage. You can even ctr (or is it shift?) right click to sell the entire stack. That is a bit finnycky tough, as sometimes it will drop it into your inventory and sometimes the shopkeeper. Edit3: How close you can build to a city is decided from the distance from particular spot in each city, I think one of the gates, and not the edge of the city. This mean that in some cases you can actually build relatively close to the city, you just have to find which end of the city allows the closest construction. So check on the other side of Squin. Edit: 1:15:26 you kinda noticed. Edit4: By the way, even the small bounties are good for something; chasing in bounties gives you a small bonus to relation with that faction. So even when its not worth the money, you can do it to build positive relations with a faction.

Saves money, but takes plenty of time to screw around the map scrounging up ruins. Few level ups for stone mine & processor and you'll have more building mats than you know what to do with them. Also, building mats are'nt that expensive.

And just stay there for now if u build out of a town need to have ur fighters in the 30 -40 Mark and alot of them. Plus if going down bow route equip who ever u want with rubbish bows. Also martial arts get it dex and strength up as it's very hard to train.

You don’t need to research anything to repair buildings. It took 5s googling and all you need to do is have building materials and hold right click on the building. The stone processor is an outdoor building not to mention it’s more efficient for it to be close to the mine servicing it. Either way it means heading towards furthering that random outpost. Ya...that outpost is going to create so many problems.

Stop being so negative, his series are usually 70-80 episodes, he'll probably set up settlements, fight HN etc, but kenshi takes a while to get going, if you don't like it watch another series
