Hi, hope all is well your end? Do you know what? I remember my gran having a Hoover Constellation. Me and my other half (Wayne) are 52, both born in the same hospital, in the same year (1971). And both our families had a Constellation. We were introduced to each other when we were 40, and our love for each other grows stronger by the day. Sadly, both Constellations were dumped years ago, but we have happy memories of such a wonderful, user friendly vacuum cleaner. Warmest Regards. Wayne & Nina 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

Lordy, it ain't half hot Steve. It is like being back as kids when employed as glass blower's assistants. Twirling our bits in the glory hole on the end of a blow-pipe. Oh the fun we had. You had that poor motor beaten into naked submission in seconds. It is great to see such a masterful hand at work. If this were ours then we'd likely try to preserve the current patina rather than try to improve it too much. For us it looks to be in an honest, good condition and we'd only consider a respray if it looked much worse. The motor sounds lovely and overall the machine only appears to need a light touch and minor tinkerage. Bravo for innuendissimo - you are certainly on form young man 🤩 Great job 👍

You can't beat a popular glory hole! I agree with you - I'm going to keep the machine as it is and not bugger about with paint. It's old and it's honest, I'll keep it that way

If only every vacuum service was as quick and easy as this one These days you quite often need a degree in engineering to sort out a service, that's if you can get into the buggers in the first place with their security screes and hidden latches and catches. Anyone would think the manufacturers wanted you to throw away your vacuum and buy a new one when a tiny part needed servicing

You would think that...

Oh my God how I have missed your videos! This is Hoover is the best example how vacuums should be made. No endless plastic clips holding machine together, no circuit boards. No twenty different screw types & etc. Fantastic design! I wonder if you are going to open your Philips P99 HR6299. I have opened my P74 Electronic and Philips were clever designing it. Quite unusual design and it's from the mid 80's despite P74 name. That's weird.

Probably not going to open the P99 - don't think I need to

My Grandmother had a Hoover Constellation ( as pictured above), that fantastic spacecraft/vacuum that floated on a cushion of air instead of wheels. It floated beautifully all over her house except for the uneven junction between carpet and tile. There it would lose air pressure and become marooned, needing a push to coax it back into frictionless travel. A little heartbreaking really, and when playing with it as a child I carefully avoided that forbidden zone. I would remove the attachments and , holding the end of the hose, fly it in a circle around me. I liked to yell orders into the open end of the hose as I spun, holding it like a microphone and occasionally letting it suck the air from my lungs. Eventually the power cord would wind up tightly around my ankles and my Grandmother would have to come and unwind me. This sequence would repeat until I vomited

The innuendos were flying in this 😂 I love a conny (or junior) in this colour, takes me straight back to childhood. Your handle looks a bit loose by the way. Call me silly but I like to replace the suppressors where possible with a modern equivalent.

You're right, the handle is a bit loose. The thread has failed so I'll have to bodge it.

Awesome tutorial - thank you! Does the color order of the 867A go: White/Rose, Jonquil/Hop Green, Smoke Pine/Swedish Green, White/Ocean Green, White/Dolphine Blue, White/Flamingo (?), White/Aegan Gold?
