This is a step-by-step video tutorial to construct the The Park Mini Backpack. The backpack is the perfect size for taking along on a day trip where you need to keep your hands free while carrying the necessary items needed to make your day enjoyable! It has a generous front zipper pocket with a more secure zipper pocket in the back. The main zipper compartment opens to a generous size interior with a slip pocket. Cutting charts are provided to make the backpack in two versions. Version 1 is made with 100% Cotton Quilting Fabric making it domestic sewing machine friendly while Version 2 is made form 100% Cotton Quilting Fabric and vinyl which is better suited for heavier duty sewing machines.
The Backpack Measures Approximately: 8.5" Wide x 10" High x 4" Deep.

I just watched this tutorial while taking a day off from THE PARKS. My granddaughter fell in love with the little backpacks for sale in all the Disney parks and asked me to make one for her when we get home. I’m so glad you posted this tutorial before I purchased a different pattern. Yours is the closest in style and size to the $90 Loungefly backpacks I’ve seen. The excellent video tutorial is a huge bonus!

Got my pattern cut out, my missing bits came today. I just finished watching this video through, and can’t wait to get started tomorrow. Best patterns/video tutorials I have ever seen - bar none. You use Rosie’s patterns and videos and you will end up with a beautifully made bag. Best of the best! Thanks a million, Rosie. JLBokelmann

I completed my first one of these yesterday using all cotton. It was definitely the most challenging sew for me to date, but i followed every step and detail in the plans and am happy to say it turned out great! I can confirm that it is doable on a domestic machine, just take your time. Due to layer thickness I had to use a hump jumper, but again, taking the time it worked well. Very detailed instructions. Read the instructions through thoroughly and pay attention to the the cut list and columns within it A lot of thought went into this and it shows when assembling this Thank you!

I love the tutorial!!! I understand there are 2 versions/sizes for this backpack. You state the second version has vinyl where the first version doesn't. I haven't seen any photos of the second version. Would be great to see a photo with a side-by-side comparison for the two different sizes. Also, where on the second version is the vinyl sewn?

Help please. I can’t seem to find how long the strapping webbing handles are each to be? Since it says 2 yards is needed, does this mean that each strap is only 36” long? Is that plenty long for all adults? Thanks.
@RosiesArtStudio
@RosiesArtStudio Жыл бұрын
On page 13 of the written instructions you will see that it says to cut the seatbelt webbing into two 36” lengths. My son is 5’11” and the straps are plenty long for him. You can always make an adjustment in length if needed.
