A City Planner sent me here, and I'm glad he did! I didn't even know this kind of thing was possible with CS, what an amazing build!

French here. In my childhood I went quite often to Moustier-Sainte-Marie (your pronounciation was quite good tho) and I can say you nailed it quite accurately. Interesting/Funny fact : the small truck / car prop you use at 9:43 is from our national postal service (La Poste). On it is written an inspirational motto roughly saying "Smile ! This truck might carry a love letter for you".

Staggering as usual ! I can feel the vibe of South France... The only thing missing so far is the church. Down the river there is the Sainte Croix lake, created in the 60s, which flooded an old village. All in all, the area called "Les gorges du Verdon" is pretty famous for the view, the roads dug in the rock along the river and kayaking :) My family is from Saint Véran, north from Moustiers, a place said the highest village in Europe. One of the most famous village in South is "Les Baux de Provence". And a cute place "Miramas le vieux". I hope it gives you ideas for your serie. Keep up the good work !

Great start of the new series! The only thing I would change would be the color temperature. I think it's too warm for that region. A more neutral will be more suiting.

The cliffs are very well done. I'm not a Frenchmen (Belgian) but knowing and loving this kind of scenery, i say, great work. The ivy looks great but i was somewhat surprised you didn't opt for grapevines for the restaurant, as the original shows ;). Promising new series.

Dear Dirty H. I've admired your skills as a builder for a long time now. Having explored Southern France, I can appreciate this build as well. You mentioned a map-making special, and nature detailing. I'd be absolutely thrilled to see those! I could imagine learning how to detail the nature in tropical (like Similan Islands), or mountaneous (like the Dolomiti) settings, as well as water-fronts, meadows and so forth. Please?

Wow... I've avoided playing this game because I thought it didn't allow me to make places like this, which is all I've wanted to make for as long as I can remember. I'm amazed this is possible! I'm from USA, my family is from Provence, and having visited several times throughout life, my experiences there have made me obsessed with human scaled, non-grid urban layouts...I'm excited to see it's actually possible in this game! PS: I've been to Moustiers, and before I even saw the description, I recognized it! Great job!

Quick question: how have you got Extra Landscaping Tools to work after the Roads and Vehicles update? Myself and a lot of people are having issues with it, but here it is working perfectly to create the gorgeous natural vistas that we all love to see you build. Was this recorded before the update? Regardless, another absolutely fantastic episode as always!

@@Jorgieee67 You're in luck! I've been following the mod page, and the author found out that Extra Landscaping Tools is incompatible with Improved Transport Manager. I replaced it with Improved Public Transport 2 and now Extra Landscaping Tools works absolutely fine, no problems whatsoever! Let me know how it goes, I'll try and help you troubleshoot as best I can x

Ever since your garden in England, I've been hoping you'd do some natural diorama-ing. And I hope you do do that map special. I've been rewatching your old one because I'm trying to fire myself up to try it, but again it's the nitty gritty that ends up flummoxing me: if I don't have mass transit, can I not do an island? how many trees can I put down without frying my crap rig? how do you gauge city scale? is terrain party (or whatever others of its ilk) necessary? do i need photoshop to do terrain party? etc.... So yes please to 2022 map tutorial.

How long have been waiting / hopping to see you do something like that after your series on greece and spain (I realy like how you catched the Ronda atmosphere in particular) ! My in-laws comes from the Var, very close to where Moustier is actually located and that is a usual goto place for us. I'll share with some thoughts for your consideration. Some background on the area : this place can be quite the touristic area, beside/within the village you will find 3 things that worth mentionning (although I think you already have all this in mind). 1. the village is situated just a very few kilometers north west from the gorges du verdon (the largest river canyon in France) that you may like to depict if you are in for some cliff and natural landscapint, and north from the lac Sainte croix, a major summer holiday hotspot with cannoing, sailing, camping etc.. www.tourisme-alpes-haute-provence.com/gorges-verdon/ This touristic feel is of course important if you depict the village during the summer. e.g. you will find some parking for visitors/busses at the entrance of the village, a little "tourist trap" (altough not so bad to be honest) market at the entrance of the village selling local products, etc.. 2. For the natural environment still the village is situated a few kilometers aways from the plateau de valensole known for its huge lavender fields www.france-voyage.com/tourisme/plateau-valensole-1455.htm 3 a few landmarks in the village itself are realy importants. There is a cable running between the tow top points on each side of the little canyon you started to shape (the one with the river running through the village), on this cable a golden star is hanging some 60 meters above the river itself. higher on the right handside of the river there is a small old church that hickers and tourists coming to the village are very likely to visits. on this page you will find some picture of the hanging star/church www.moustiers.fr/fr/legende-etoile-moustiers-sainte-marie Some feedback on the assets you used : - the south of france pack is realy nice. when i tried myself to find assets matching assets for the "provence" style I remember I found the italian style to be usefull of course, but you generaly have to toned down the colors a bit as in Italy they tend to use "brighter" yellows/orange colors and even other colors on their walls, such bright colors are not usualy used in south of france (you would like to stick to pale yellow to pale orange generaly). - somme props often missing and making an great visual effect when trying to replicate the south french style are the shutters - you added some stone walls building wich are fine but they look to me very britanny style, mostly because the color of the stone is a bit off. To grey and not enough beige/yellow for the area. Also they use slate roof, which is very uncommon south of the Loire river. Better stick to the terracota tiled roof most of the time. - you added as well some timbered house, although not impossible, not very common in southern france, more expected to be found from Lyon and upper north. In smaller town in southern france you may although find as well some "haussmannien" building (the paris large avenues classic style), but very scarcely (maybe for some bank/the town hall, not sure it is the case in moustier though) . Hope it helps a little, Can't wait to see the next episode ! great work !
