Let's START/ Office CLEAN & DECLUTTER / Part 1 / Cleaning Motivation

It's finally time to tackle the hoarding, the clutter, the mess and all the STUFF that has been living rent free in our office for a VERY long time. Things get moved in here as a 'safe space' and there they stay. I am ultimately looking at decluttering the whole house but it's mentally taking a tole on me and trying to juggle it with everything else means it's taking a long time to get anything done.

I'm sorry I don't get a lot done but this just goes to show that this is REAL LIFE I got overwhelmed by how much their was to do so I uploaded it for others to share in the journey!

I definitely have struggles too, I finally took down the Christmas decorations half way through February and wanted to organise the 10 storage containers properly so it’s still sitting in the dining room because I needed to buy more containers lol and now it’s too difficult for my adhd brain to figure out, maybe I’ll get it done by December! 😂

@@sarahb5967we once had a full sized christmas tree up all year - noone came to visit so figured best to leave it, now the mini one is up all year it's not in the way and makes us happy. I always think i need to buy more containers but i'm sure i just need to declutter so i'm only doing short bursts like this video and then seeing where I end up

The mess gives me real anxiety watching this, reminds me of my abusive ex who was a borderline hoarder and wouldn’t let me throw anything out. Had to when he wasn’t there and he would barely ever notice. Have you ever thought about working with a counsellor or organiser to deal with your adhd? I can sense your own frustration dealing with your mess when you clean up.

Appreciate you watching. It’s my mess so my responsibility and it will get done this was actually filmed right before I got sick last year so it’s taken me a while to get back. I don’t feel I need to work with anyone at this point in time I’m still able to do most things in the house it just takes longer dinner is cooked every night there’s no take away here or rotting food on counters or fridges

Helpful hint when it gets too much and you dont know where to start. Do one just the top of the table and leave the rest. Or do just one small section and stop and come back the next day and do another small section breaking it all up into bite size pieces you know what I mean ? These are doable and if you keep chipping away everyday doing a little bit it will get done. Good luck xx

What I do when there is piles of things on the floor is grab the big tubs and put all of the stuff in them. The room then looks so much cleaner and it is motivating. Then I go threw one tub at a time.

Yep I was going to do that too and then undo one box at a time but I know the boxes will sit there for another month lol 😂
