When I still had four draft horses, I could make six different teams out of them with the variations possible. Have fun. I see that winter is fading away at your latitude , too.

You can tell by watching her stride that Jenny has some arthritis. Her movement is not as fluid as the other horses. But she is so sweet. Both she and Mable were perfect for you to train with and learn driving techniques. I bet you are excited for spring field work.

Definitely - and yes Jenny has a clunky step because of it...we don't push her at all, our vet provides guidance here and insisted the best thing for her (physically and mentally) is regular light work!

@@drafthorseswithalexa well Alexa, that advice applies to humans as well as animals. Movement is good for arthritis and mental health. Keep up the good work!!!

Thank you for sharing. Hope the weather aloud you to get out ? I've always did preferred Driving over riding. But it's always nice to get a nice morning or evening ride is nice. Jenny seems like a well behaved horse. Looks like she is willing to do what you ask of her and waits for you to ask.

Jenny's great all around!

That makes a lot of sense why you team up the two you chose. I never realized the complexity on making teams. How it’s based on each horses personality and style. I enjoy your videos, thank you for sharing. All your horses are beautiful as are your dogs and farm.❤😊 Your dad said Charlie is low ranking in your herd :( Is it because he’s the youngest, newest to the heard,most timid ?
@drafthorseswithalexa8 ай бұрын
Thank you - on Charlie, mostly because he is timid. Mable, then Jenny sit at the bottom even though they are older - just very timid, especially our sweet Jenny. Charlie comes next, then Riley and then onto the 4 other mares. Izzy is the oldest, then Sally. Normally the oldest mare runs the herd...not really in our case as our youngest (Daisy) is firmly in charge over everyone except her partner Mary - who sits in the middle of the herd otherwise, so it can get complicated, especially when we need the whole herd to move somewhere at the same time!

suggestion. Get a wireless mic to attach to yourself and using bluetooth, communicate to your phone. will help with the volume to understand what you are saying.
