All of the chicks coming out from under the momma hen reminded me of the countless clowns coming from a small car. I enjoyed watching the progress of the little bull calf. Great thinking with the invention of the therapy table.

Great to see the calf up and runnin round the yard. We have had similar ones here over the years, used to give them an egg in their milk.

3:02 did you guys make those white calf pens yourselves? That’s a niffy design to hold the cattle panel there with a rod, which it looks like it goes through a plastic loop?? That bull calf made a dramatic improvement. That’s a rewarding part of the job!!
@BeckmanBrothersDairyMore20 күн бұрын
@@Justangs we bought them from a local supplier who also raises calves all the way up to feeders. Donnie figured out how to bolt a loop of that plastic on the ends for the rebar.

Such a blessing. Could've been a terrible loss if they hadn't acted when they did.

Very true. My brothers and hired hands, Alex and John Henry, are very experienced with pulling calves. I’m surprised how many come backwards and still survive. Last week, they weren’t so lucky. Pulled a bull calf that was breech at 830 PM, and Tony said it was alive, but didn’t look right, very small. Stayed with the cow all night. By morning it had died.
