3:19 That's exactly how it is here. And how it is at most major cities (based on user experiences on the Rolex forums and on reddit)

In my 20 years of collecting, all 15 Rolex ADs in my area, within 100 miles radius, do not sell those brands. I was even told by an AD manager that Rolex determines whether they want to be associated with an AD based on the other brands they carry (which is apparently wrong considering your AD carries these lower priced brands...or maybe it's not wrong and that's just how Rolex operates in the cities near me). Seeing as his profession is in the watch industry, I considered him to be well informed on the topic (at least more so than me). I think the reason they do at your AD is because it's a smaller city.....so consider yourself extremely lucky!!! But you can keep telling me how wrong I am (even though this doesn't exist in any cities in a 100 mile radius around me and even though this is what I was told by an AD manager in my city). Just like how you're speaking from your personal experience, I am as well. And here, Rolex is apparently too snobby. It would be an absolute dream to have a Rolex AD here that would also sell Seikos (not just GS).

I do think it has a lot to do with me being in a smaller city. I’m sure in London or Chicago the Rolex AD would not be caught dead with a Seiko line up. But I just wanted to make the point that this isn’t something Rolex is forcing on all ADs. I think it’s more of that AD themselves not wanting to associate with “cheaper” brands so they can keep the prestige look to their rich clients.

At nkuwan it's not just a watch; it's an art piece. Each design is crafted with unique inspiration and craftsmanship. The exquisite production process reveals not just a watch, but a fashionable feast for the senses.

This is a really interesting video, and I think it could be worth a deeper dive by people within the AD world. However, I imagine getting an honest conversation from an AD on Rolex would also be almost impossible. I'll start by saying I have dealt a little with Rolex from an AD level and no longer have to, thankfully. But my experience is they are very precise and know what they want, and expect to be the most important client to the AD. Generally, they are! So with that in mind, let’s get to your comments. The first thing I did was look up Joseph's Jewellers, and I was genuinely surprised that Seiko and Tissot were on the same website. My personal experience tells me that Joseph's Jewellers is the outlier here. Ninety-five percent of Rolex ADs have very specific requirements on what watches Rolex can even be near in a shop, which usually only includes Patek or AP. So, to find Seiko and Tissot was a really big surprise. I would be really interested to see Joseph's Jewellers from the inside and see their setup of the store and how close Seiko is to the Rolex cabinets (be careful if you do this, as Rolex may be unhappy if it's not correct and it could affect the AD). So then the question becomes how did this happen? Currently, I expect that Joseph Jewellers has had all these watch brands for a long time, certainly prior to the year 2000 is the only rational that I can figure as long-term standing is about the only thing rolex might care about. I expect the market within the area that you live is also smaller and may have an effect. Finally, of course, all these watches can coexist in a store, but if I were a new startup AD and tried to do this, Rolex would almost certainly refuse. Be happy that you have a cool watch AD near you, but also understand that you are in the minority. I still have friends working at an AD who have told me even in the current time most Rolexes are sold well before they arrive at the store, and if you want a special model, you will need to be what is referred to as an extremely valuable customer. Personally, I have given up on my Rolex dream but love the Tudor I own. Good luck with the channel

No matter how nice you are or how many times you stop into a Rolex AD, they're not giving you sh*t. Just move on to another brand if you want a new watch.
