Boldness as a Christian was a huge part of my testimony. Attending an HBCU and being surrounded by Fraternities and Sororities caused me to take a bold stance against them because of what they were channeling. It was challenging for me at the time because I enjoyed that culture, not only did I think it was cool but I thought it was right and When God spoke to me I knew that people would classify me as something I’m not for Obeying my Lord and Savior. Crazy times we live in. Interesting culture that we come from. Thank you Jesus for coming into my life.

"Boldness is not about addressing men at times, but it's about honoring & showing up for Jesus....Sometimes it's you showing up for Jesus in a world that hates Him." •Be led by the Spirit and not by social media. •Boldness has more to do w obedience. Boldness doesn't always require speaking. •Being bold is about BEING. BE-ing. •Identify what we are afraid of. •Process through the fear. Bring God into it. Entrust yourself to Him in the midst of feeling it all. •Boldness isn't a feeling. We don't have to FEEL bold to BE bold. Sometimes you just have to DO it. If you wait to feel it, it's probably not going to happen. •Boldness is not contingent upon us, but is the work of the Person of the Holy Spirit. He's given me this new boldness I've never had before. I used to say "when I grow up ill go to another church where I feel like I can grow" " when I get older I will be able to not care what my parents think and tell strangers that God loves them" I always was a coward when I was small, but now I feel like God's telling me I need to stop because he is bringing me closer to what he's calling me to do.

Jackie, many years ago I asked God to give or take away my peace in taking a job offer. My husband was hurting me and I needed to hear from God. I had a foot so heavy on me, I said no. Peace restored, 3 months later they called me back, I didn’t ask the Lord said yes and it was the worst decision of my life. My prayer life has changed and now I’m asking God for strength to get through trails. After divorce, about to celebrate 28 years of marriage to a wonderful Christian man. God restores broken lives!!

When I think of boldness I also think of people committing to an act not necessarily out of obedience to God but having a deep understanding that it’s just the “right thing to do” Like Ruth staying with Naomi despite being a foreigner with no means of provision, Esther walking into the King’s presence knowing full well she could die, Abigail seeking mercy from David when he and his men were on there way to slaughter her household, or the woman with the issue of blood pushing through the crowd to touch Jesus despite her uncleanliness They weren’t necessarily obeying a command from God, though God’s hand was obviously over each of their lives, but acting out in what they “just had to do” in the moment, if that makes sense

Here is some revelation I got from this interesting take on the topic of ‘Boldness’: Based on what Preston said midway through the video, you mentioned the scripture God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. FALSE boldness is manifested in an individual out of fear that they don’t want people to see who they REALLY are… So what do they do? For example: Let me call out people on their mess and call it “being real” Let me call out false teachings and call it “being fearless” Let me be the loudest in the room and call it “being bold” No…the REALITY is, you’re really operating in fear and masking it with outlandishness and outspoken-ness (If that’s a word 😂) This was a great video. Thanks for sharing
@mstkfit Жыл бұрын
Thank you Jesus ! This was exactly what I needed… I’ve been running away from this topic b/c it’s a sensitive spot for me not feeling like I’m bold enough to preach, teach or reach with the Gospel. But this podcast has illuminated the word of God in me in so many ways.. these are just a few truths God revealed to me: 1. Like Preston said a SOUND MIND ! Many a time our fear takes root in us not knowing the will of God (in this case Jesus being predestined to die) or lack of experiencing the love of God or just needing power (by the filling of the Holy Spirit) ref. 2 Timothy 1:7 So in short our fear shows our defiance by & thus need for God in some way. 2. It’s easier to be bold in what God has called me to do when I’ve made it a habit to obey Him when I don’t feel like it, I’m upset, irritated, tired, etc. so even when I’m fearful, I’m empowered to do God’s will because it’s been a practice to obey Him. So fear has no footing where obedience is rooted. 3. Boldness is not a personality - it’s a way of being in GOD. 4. Lastly, God bless you two & your team! Launching this podcast is bold I self. Living for Jesus in a world so contrary to Him is bold ! Boldness in speech AND in doing the will of God. The focus should be shifted from having a personality of boldness to doing God’s will and growing in intimacy with Him where we are assured He’s with us (“perfect love cast out all fear” - 1 John 4:18) God bless❤

Boldness is obedience to God. I think sometimes in a way that doesn’t make sense to anyone. Even right now I have a word from God concerning what I need to do this year and the path I need to take and so many people are against that and I get calls from people giving “advice” to stop me from acting “crazy” and I have to be bold in this moment and set my face like a flint because God’s will has to be done in my life.

I liked when Preston mentioned that the Romans could tell that John and Peter were uneducated men but could discern that they had been with Jesus. First time listening to this podcast. As a believer, I moved into a certain community. I am hated. Photographed, stalked, and despised. Why. Never troubled anyone. Reached a place in my life where I began to trust that God is with me. He brought me to this place, and I will be kept until my God is ready to move me . He promised me that he would never leave me nor forsake me. Are His promises true or not. Is my life in His hands or not. Am I one of His chosen vessels? Is he fighting my battles, or am I doing it.

This episode is just what I needed!!! So clear and Spirit led and truthful. I’ve been thinking about boldness lately- I used to think it was “speaking the ‘truth’ no matter what” but it was always a prideful place. Now I see it in the way you guys speak of- being led in Love by the Spirit of God- it can take a lot of boldness to pray for someone God puts on your heart, to share the gospel, to humble yourself and apologize to someone even if they also wronged you. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We are no better or worse than anyone else. Jesus is RISEN!!! So we can be bold in Him. Hallelujah!!!

🔥 Boldness is obedience and obedience isn't a feeling so boldness is not a feeling. I love what Preston said about backing up the online "boldness" with community involvement for Christ. I just got started, this week, in a 5 month evangelism/discipleship group. We are going through a book called "Disciples Making Disciples Level 1" put out by The Timothy Initiative (familiar at all?-I wasn't), and going out to practice evangelism either at the mall or the park or some public area, on the spot. I have a lot of "reasons" not to do this but I have no excuse for disobedience and I know God called my introvert, single mom self to this so I'm here for all of it bc HE is in me and I TRUST that my life and my time are in HIS hands. When's the release of your book (P)?

A bold moment moved over me once sitting in a pub with a table of atheist. You know what was Wow, is that they listened. Truth is powerful. I can't remember what I said because it just came over me. It was activated by the savage blasphemy at the table. The whole pub went quiet too. It was but a minute or 2. I'm a feisty tongue when it comes standing up for Jesus because it is what it is and that's that, I can not help it. Of subject a bit , can you please come preach in South-Africa. I've been careful to who I choose to listened to because unfortunately there are many wolves out there. You guys are on the right road.

I like the last two things you both said. First Preston said it prefect that sometimes we fear being bold because of the consequences and forget the whole time that our life is in the hands of God. Like Kanye said "I am a God Even though I'm a man of God My whole life in the hand of God So y'all better quit playin' with God". Then the last thing Jackie said definitely hits home some times when we don't where and how our provision is going to come to us is when our faith to God is definitely tested and from what you said I learned that it also teach/show me who I really am when those times are around! Thank you guys for your perspectives🙏 !!

Let me tell you that my mind is so engaged with every subject bc y’all are so thorough with how the Word of God is applied in every area… in case we didn’t know or had discrepancy, now we know and can go to the Bible and read it. I love y’all and praise God for His covering and protection all around you and your family❤🙌🏽🙏🏽👏🏽♥️♥️

When i think about boldness , i think about the apostles and disciples as boldness is mentioned alot in acts. Moreover when myself or some of my sisters and brother's in Christ go out to evangelise we always ask for Boldness to be able to preach the gospel because it is often intimidating. But also to be bold to believe that Christ can move when we go out to witness More over Paul in ephesians 6:19 requested for prayer for boldness to preach the gospel .. there is a lot to boldness.

Uh uh don’t you dare be sorry! 😅 tell the butt naked truth! I remember I went to the alter for prayer to ask the lord for more boldness, most of the church was shocked because i was already loud about Jesus but the boldness I started to feel like God was calling me into I felt unprepared for. They don’t understand that gut wrenching feeling to speak or denounce something God told you to do. That was many years ago. I Appreciate this conversation as I know God is about to guide me into another level, I know I heard this message for a purpose in my life.

Hello brothers and sisters. This video was exactly what I needed as I am majoring in Sociology in my University, and it is opposed to what God values. I am constantly pinpointed to debate or speak. However, I need wisdom in how I can glorify him but speak truth 🙏 I ask that you all please pray for me.

Just speak! Gods Spirit will provide the words. When you feel that unction, pray in the moment and speak

Why do you say it’s opposed? My first major in college was sociology but I changed it before getting to upper level courses
@michellesanchez9 Жыл бұрын
@@NikIrchirl can I gently ask why you changed it before you took upper courses ? There are many reasons why, as we read our textbooks the author of many theories behind Sociology are against religion although they might not say Jesus in particular, it is an anti-christ spirit behind what they teach us, and they shifted making anyone who believes in religion demonic and "oppressive" and that you can freely chose to believe what you want to believe and morality is subjective which is completely not true and undermines the gospel as a whole. This is why many people in our society are hating God and think everyone has a agenda to oppress them. I am not being political but I'm just stating why it is opposed. (Before I knew what I knew I couldn't get to figure out why many people in our society hates God, although the Bible tells us in the last days they would, but there is so much more to it because they are teaching this exact curriculum to many students which questions anyone in faith and demonizes Christianity because it is so generalized in what they are teaching) I don't want to blow up these comments by adding in depth what I mean, because there would be too much to point on, but I am thinking about praying about another major, because I am really questioning it. Although I do not agree with it as a whole I genuinely love those who are incarcerated and struggling with drug addiction and originally and still want to be a therapist And case manager in both settings for his glory, but I will soon know which exact major I can take, whether if he calls me to stay or move.

Omg! Wow, this is crazily (honestly!) on time! Holy Spirit led me to Joshua ealier this week to remind me of His statement to Joshua about crossing over…then TODAY someone posted that same scripture on their page. NOW y’all are talking about it. God has been challenging me towards boldness lately…so. Further confirmation. ❤
