Glad you liked the description I threw together for the Wii port's app info! It sounds like the time on your Wii might be wrong, resulting in web requests to the login API failing - you can try setting "https-verify=false" in the settings file, or if that doesn't work, "http-no-https=true" as a last resort. Those should also make it so that the texture packs etc download on first run. It's objectively a much better experience with a usb keyboard plugged in for chat/typing and a classic controller plugged into the wiimote.

Thank you very much for checking out my video! Had I realized how in-depth the ClassiCube project was, I would've covered it way sooner! That being said, the reason the Wii port didn't work for me is because the internet on my Wii wasn't set up. It wasn't a ClassiCube issue - it was my own! No worries! I do plan to come back to this project, to do a more extensive video on each of it's versions!

you think they would ever add classic survival? even bring back some planned gamemodes that were lost when Minecraft went infinite, like Fortress mode? If you're wondering what Fortress mode is, it was originally described by Notch like this... "After having built a level in Creative or Survival mode, you and your friends connect to another fortress made by some other people. The map gets bigger so it fits both maps, and you play a game on this map. Perhaps Capture the Flag, perhaps something else" EDIT: I see it’s not planned and they get this question a lot, so sorry for asking.

I've seen people attempt at creating a survival-like game mode on Classicube, but considering how scuffed it is, I suggest using something like Betacraft Launcher if you really just want old Minecraft.

Actually, when Classicube still was Classicalsharp (0.99) it had sth like survival mode you could turn on in settings. Mobs couldn't attack you and instead just followed you. The only way you could take damage is by failing.

2:19 technically you can run classicube even on NT 3.51 , but you just replace some files just to it run.

Honestly I'm surprised that nobody has made an insane LAN party of all the Classicube ports in the same room, I'd love to see every console with online play connected to one another. Even the DSi port has wifi which is insane!!! Most DS homebrew doesn't bother with wifi support, especially not a modern project. Someone with a lot of time on their hands needs to get everything linked up just for fun even if it's super impractical

@@Sharkmouth I will agree that we were being assholes there. We should have just ignored it or said something more constructive. However, to put it into perspective, people join and say something like "I'm running on [outdated os]" ALL the time. And they also tend to pretty much leave right after when no one gives them attention for it. That wouldn't be too big of a deal, but people running on outdated OSes usually means stuff in the server (like textures) doesn't work and we have to become tech support for it every time, which also gets pretty old pretty fast. Ultimately it doesn't excuse the rude behavior, though. It's something we should be better about.

one of my favorite game modes in classic minecraft was "lava survival". i was so sad for the longest time that there didn't seen to be any recreation of it.. until I saw a few on the classicube server list! so glad it was revived with this game!

WOW. This brings back so many memories. I also used to play this back when it was called ClassicalSharp. My old pc couldn't run Minecraft so I resorted to this. It was good enough for young me to enjoy. I played on a variety of servers including Not so Awesome and such. And the way people just start digging at you when you said you were on 2000 is simply on point lmao. I had made both friends and foes during my time playing, certainly an interesting community.

I hosted a free build server, at the time, was the only server from Brasil, and I think the only server from south america. I ran the server for some days, and talked with some people from classicube community, they are so kind, was a really great experience, but so few brazilians enter, the majority was from north america, because they have a okay ping, I wish the community can grow here in Brasil.

I managed to get ClassiCube to run on my watch for fun(Most of the options are inaccessible due to the small screen, but it still works for singleplayer(Kinda))

I've actually tested out multiplayer on devices like the 3DS and PSVita myself! Heck, I even set up a testing server on my Pi to get both (and my PC) in the same server. I do wanna track down an old PC to mess around with, I bet it would be fun to have all sorts of niche devices all in one server.

I have run ClassiCube on my iPad Mini from 2012 and my Pentium II Windows 98 computer from 1998. The iPad Mini runs it really well but the Windows 98 computer struggles considerably. I might have to update my graphics drivers.

@@Terminated_Account it’s no longer on steam, but the game itself was written from scratch in an entirely different language than MC, and uses assets that were made from scratch for the express purpose of distributing with it. The end result is that no parts of the game infringe on existing copyrights or trademarks, and only resemble a version of the game that is completely different from the version that’s been marketed for the last 12 years

I've been a member of ClassiCube for a very long time and sometimes it does get a bit grating with how many people (mostly young children) announce what OS they're using. I also didn't have the context that Snowman was trying to prove just how well optimized ClassiCube is for a video until after my call out.

Could I have just ignored it? Yeah, I normally do. Especially if I can tell it's a young kid, for the exact reason you pointed out. The one time I decided to call it out happened to get captured on camera and I'm glad Snowman took it so well. Let's also acknowledge the fact that I wasn't being angry and simply stated the fact that overall it's a relatively easy task, hence why it didn't impress me or the other two staff that chimed in for that matter. Overall this is a pretty big non-issue and I'd be lying if I said its inclusion didn't make me laugh.
