In my opinion I think Gleaners are about the pick of the bunch,good simple reliable compact machines.You guys are good farmers and know your requirements and I'm sure you will make a balanced decision.
@HammerPowered9 ай бұрын
Not surprised you're making this move after the test runs this fall. Gotta think one larger unit instead of the two is going to be a plus for your operation. My bet is you're going with the Claas unit.

Seriously doubt that, a few videos ago they were talking about how ridiculously expensive the new Claas’s were. They will be sticking with Agco
@TheRealJesseStoltzfus9 ай бұрын
@@nickh9632it could always be a used machine. My old boss got several 22, along with a couple new 23’s this year when he went from deere to claas. 6.5 mph picking 16 rows of irrigated corn speaks volumes. I don’t think Agco can match that, even with an ideal.

Probably Claas but Case IH would look good on the farm as well. Hopefully you go Geringhoff for the heads. You won’t be disappointed.
@ni14699 ай бұрын
That’s the combine and head brands I prefer. We still have an old 1440 that runs and operates (when batteries get put in it) as a back up machine because dumb sh*t happens and it’s paid off lol
@robo12109 ай бұрын
@@ni1469 we’ve been red combines for years. Had a 7120 and a 7230 for several years, sold both and moved to an 8250 this year. Not a bad machine but wished we’d of went to a 9250. Currently use a Macdon Draper and have no complaints but I bet we’ll go geringhoff if we upgrade. Have a Geringhoff 18r 20” and love it. Demo’d an 8600 claas this fall and they are some very impressive machines. Would probably have one of price wasn’t 3/4 of a mill.

I hope its the Claas, you guys bought. I figured you'd go for the macdon, but maybe a Geringhoff instead? Corn head too? But with the amount of times this that you havent ran two combines for different reasons, i think one combine is the way to go. You'll be slower in beans, but maybe you can get more tillage, fertillizing and winter wheat plating done, earlier.

The clue at the end leaves it pretty wide open, as you have probably demoed every brand over the years. If I were buying a new piece of equipment, I am purchasing the one that has a dealer relatively close by, and that provides good service. Some dealer's seem to think farming is a 9-5 job during the week and close at noon on Saturday. And we know that equipment will break down at 12:01 on Saturday.

How do they compare
@ericwakeland31169 ай бұрын
@BriansFarmingVideos the 9t is a beast. It's a 23 model so there's been growing pains. No steering wheel is a bit of a learning experience. And the fendt has an awesome warranty package. The New Holland is a great machine. But it's a bit older than the 9t. But to compare machines. I'm very Impressed with the fendt.
@brentbarclay99909 ай бұрын
My initial guess is a machine that was one of the hidden demo's, brand guess is that it is not Deere, Case, Massey. Brand of the head kinda gives this away because in general deere combine=deer header, and you talk about pricing a new MacDon draper, this might also suggest that you wouldn't be looking at a Claas head but that could be due to cost also. my guess on header will be a Geringhoff for corn, draper could still be up in the air depending on what's available,

I know Grandpa Bob likes the Claas. What grandpa wants, grandpa gets! My favorite header to watch is a Honeybee. Zach Johnson has one. It literally does float like a butterfly & cuts like a honeybee.😂 I think they’re amazing BUT Ohio is much different then Minnesota. I’m guessing you’re going with a folding Claas corn header & flexible MacDon bean head with a Crary windsystem.

Used/ex-demo 8600-TT. The key here is the dealer support and that basically seems to be Ohio Ag. They support Claas, Fendt and Gleaner. They have a near new 8600 on the books. If it was not for the above I’d have said a similar New Holland CR9.90. Both are excellent machines

My guess is a class combine with class 16 row header and a class 45' draper header.
@45Deere95009 ай бұрын
Not so sure they'd want a 16 row head, since they move on some narrow roads. Even if it folded, it'd still be 20' minimum, in width, and not able to make it up and down some of the roads they travel. And I doubt they'd want to have to take a non folding head on and off each time they need to move. You can push a lot of corn through a 12 row corn head, plus it matches up perfectly with the 24 row planter.
