Larson Farms has got to be the cleanest operation and set-up out of any farm I've ever seen hands down.

It is very impressive indeed, it's constant work to keep it that way, all the stuff we don't always see in the video, we just get snippets but there is so much more that goes into all this, probably more than many can even comprehend. much respect for Larson Farms in so many ways. I am often gobsmacked really.

We've got an S780 coming our way on tracks that we just traded for. Will be the first thing on our farm with tracks. Looking forward to the drive home from dealer maybe in a couple weeks.

I was the lucky person to install Soucy tracks on a Claas combine 2 years ago . I think this was a once in a lifetime experience for me . Never again on a combine . Ever . This outfit´s owner had them on a few tractors and they are relatively easy to change but a combine , you´ve stated the obvious ( from my personal experience ) buy factory installed . Tractors that need to have the option to swap around is a different story .
@samwaldner11284 жыл бұрын
If you're thinking the job is done think again. Track alignment is a 4 to 5 hour job, driving 2 miles and checking the blocks with a lazer thermometer gun. If its hotter on one side than the other you adjust a bit and drive 2 miles again.

Speaking of jacks letting go and leaking down it would be nice to see big blocks under there just in case. I doubt if there are jack stands big enough for it. I always used four screw type barn jacks on blocks for safety but I doubt you will find barn jacks anywhere these days. JohnDeere knew all that and didn't tell you because they wanted to sell you the tracks. Bigger swede needs the grass mowed. Good video Winny. Peace.

The farm I work at we buy 9 new class 9 combines every 2 years and 20 new 9R and 9RT every year because we can't afford breakdowns farming 48,000 acres. It works out great for us and will continue doing it this way until it doesn't work.
@OOpSjm4 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't a lease work best in that scenario?
@garyfuiten51264 жыл бұрын
48,000....Holy Crap.
@cntslesfabrication4 жыл бұрын
@@OOpSjm you would think so but the lease payments are more expensive per month per machine then just making the note payments are. There charging you more for the wear and tear like a rental. It's a difference of 1500 to 2500 per machine per month depending on each contract

Interesting video, Tracks are pretty nice, I'm planning to build a half track cargo truck with Combine tracks & backhoe tires, I won't be having the issue of removing final drives or any that mess, but I'm interested in what it'll take to get one installed, not sure how much horsepower that combine's engine has, but I was thinking of using a gas engine instead of diesel, I'm sure the overall half track won't weigh near as much as that huge combine, but I'd like a go anywhere & get some crap done type of work vehicle, need to haul tombstones sometimes & sometimes end up with roads flooded or with icy roads. I was thinking of using a Ford 460 V8 with truck transmission though, keep up the good work & thanks to the Farmers of America for the work they do.
