@@eloisewiehman7326 - No doubt. Those 2 forehand winners in the tiebreaker as well as match point, just shows you how tough in the clutch he is. Margin of error at that level is so slim, and that’s where the mental and the confidence comes in, and he has it like no one else. Congrats Champ. You got your icing on the cake.

He's honestly not my favourite player in history but his career is simply unreal. At 42 I'm absolutely certain his records will not be surpassed in my lifetime. On top of that, he had some of the other goats as competition all the way. A man who dedicated himself to his sport and absolutely owned it in his time. He likely hasn't finished with slam titles either. I'm glad he got his Olympic gold finally. A perfect career well capped.

People act as if Novak didn't have to fight for his GOAT status against 2 other GOAT candidates... No athlete had to do that. Serena didn't have to play against Steffi and Martina, Ali didn't have to fight against Tyson, Jordan didn't have to play against Lebron or Russell... The same goes for Messi, Phelps, Bolt... No one had to play against 2 other GOAT candidates. Because of his achievements but above all because of the competition against whom he won it all, Novak is perhaps the greatest athlete of all time.

Serena Williams is NOT the undisputed GOAT of female Tennis, Margaret Court is, Margaret Court achieved 24 Grand Slam wins. Djokovic has only just equalled Courts record, Serena never did this. Djokovic is still very impressive at 37, he is unlike any other player out there, before or since, in a special golden era of great players ie. Federer, Nadal, Murray etc. Congrats to Novak ! :)

I don't know for how long Novak can play on this level but as long as he can be in top 3 at the end of the year he should keep playing unless he's 41 or older than it's ok for him to continue even as no 4 but if he can't go back in top 3 than that's it

Ah, the age-old debate of when to hang up the racket! If he can still serve aces, who says he can't play until 50? Just imagine the headlines!

The first fact why I do not dispute Nadal's successes and titles as well as Roger's is the fact that if there were no Roger's and Nadal's successes, there would not be today's success from Novak and he would not have such a desire to perhaps achieve the success he has today (maybe, maybe, maybe. .) That's one of the reasons *why* Novak is the G.O.A.T today, although there are a few other factors that have contributed to his immense success that we can all witness today and I'll list them below... I also think that the two of them pushed him forward the most and gave him the motivation to be better than them, for the reason that they never acknowledged him to be as good a tennis player as the two of them, or "God forbid" just that they admitted that he was better than them, ever or ever, they always stuck together, united against Novak with the support of the majority (99.9%) of the western media. *(The UK never liked him because he turned down their huge amounts of money that no one would. He refused their offer to start a professional career for the united kingdom, he refused to change his Serbian citizenship in exchange for an English one. He kept his own, what he loves and where he comes from, he had his principles even then... 🇷🇸).* I think that they thought that Novak would give in psychologically with age and that he would not withstand those false facts of theirs, which they used against Novak for years - "that he is not loved by the people even though he has the same successes as the two of them, that he is neither good as an athlete nor as a man, characterizing him for years as a bad person through the media, they thought that this was how they would shut down Novak.. a long-standing challenge, him as a PERSON, even him as an athlete... First of all, because of the support that the two of them had from the media (UK, USA), lynching and challenge from the same, and then from the two of them at the end... However, the outcome was the opposite, they just gave him additional motivation plus the spite that he naturally possesses in himself, and they created - a madhouse. *(Each nation has something by which that nation is most recognizable, which adorns them as such..., they just didn't know then that when you say: Serb, Serb or Serbia in translation it means - DESPITE. , that's WE, we've been defying those for centuries who try to challenge and break us in every way as a nation, for reasons known only to them...probably to hide the real truth, but the truth always finds its way in the end...)* One or two more facts: Novak would never have chased ALL the records he owns today if the following had not happened: 1. HE HAD STRONG OPPONENTS like Nadal and Roger (motive)..Motive to prove that he is better.. 2. That they didn't challenge him THROUGHOUT HIS ENTIRE CAREER, spread their propaganda against Novak through the media, challenged EVEN by other teammates who NEVER WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE Novak's successes IN TENNIS AND THAT HE IS ACTUALLY BETTER THAN THEM.. 3. and if he didn't have that INAT... if... The latter was the main reason for his enormous success, more precisely for his doctorate/master's degree in tennis as a sport. Novak Djokovic, an ordinary man, a tennis player ... defeated them all , and that is the main reason why he is GOAT and one of the best sport players in the world of Sports.!!!

Excellent review, but at the 5th minute you say that Novak broke Carlos early in the first set. That did not happen. Both players held their serve throughout the entire match. There wasn’t a single break of serve. Many break points (14 in total), but they were all saved.

Serena’s game was just the most Male-Alike when watched. Probably due to superior strenght genetics. Also USA sportsmen are known for using a lot of PED in their careers, because it is easier to trick and bypass the test in USA
