Note on cross multiplying- you have to solve for X after cross multiplying in order to get the final number. I apologize for skipping that step in my demonstration!

I did the exam in 6 hours or so I don’t find it too hard but the physic q had me shook. I didn’t study physics 😮this is why I failed it the first time.

I am scared. In my final semester and we are beginning out mock board exams and have an arsenal of study tools for this semester- RTBC, Radreview and Corectec. I am taking practice quizzes and failing miserably. I don't know if it's just that I'm overwhelmed and the worse I do the more it is maybe making me panic and not think straight??? I don't know why the material is not sticking like there are concepts that my brain just can't compartmentalize for some reason. Condyles, epicondyles, intercondylar, epicondylar, tubercles, tuberosities, fossas... I feel like every question has the same set of answer options and they are all almost the same word.

I felt like the online practice quizzes were formatted to be more challenging than the actual registry. I always scored poorly on RadReview specifically but I did well on the registry. When things blend together for me, I write it all down on a single piece of paper so that I can see all the definitions next to each other. Then it’s like playing spot the difference and that helps it stick for me. Take little chunks at a time to review so you don’t get too overwhelmed. Good luck!

Ive been an x ray for three years and took my arrt once and including fluoro here in cali. You guys need to relax an dont iver think it… just learn the basics, 5x2 is 10 and 2x5 is ten, so no matter what youre resources are, the answer should be the same.

I only created a template that included the breakdown of each equation and when to use them. Other than that we just started from my notes on day one on through the entire program.

Hey I don’t want to wait until i get my results in the mail. I failed by one point and it’s eating me upppp 😭 I know i will pass the next go round. What’s a good way to remember the joints? I’ve used correctec and rtbc. correctec was hard in the beginning but i’ve gotten comfortable and started passing. I was in the low 70s on RTBC mocks then started studying so more & couldn’t get higher than an 85 until this passed wednesday when i took the registry. I don’t know where to begin again lol

Hello! I usually refer international applicants to the ARRT website: www.arrt.org/pages/earn-arrt-credentials/how-to-apply/international-inquiries as I am not familiar with the process you would need to go through. To become a radiographer in the states you only need an associates (2 year) degree so I wouldn’t see it to be necessary to have your masters unless you’re wanting to be a radiation physicist. Greetings, how accurate is the score number that appears on the computer to the one sent by email?

It is likely to be your exact score. May vary a few points but there are no cases that I’ve heard of where it shows a failing grade on the computer then you end up passing or vice versa.

My instructor printed out all of the PowerPoints he taught from for us to take notes on so that’s what we reviewed. We skimmed through quite a bit but when they didn’t have any questions on a topic I would quiz them and I realized they actually didn’t understand the information enough to question it and we would dive into the “why” behind it. If you can’t explain the “why” then study it. For example, why do you need to angle on a lateral knee? It’s not enough to know that you need an angle, you need to know why. Does that help?

I’m not familiar with the teas exam. If you haven’t started the radiology program yet then there is no need to stress over the registry at this point. Your school should provide you with plenty of material throughout the program for you to study. Take it a day at a time and don’t think too far into the future, it will only overwhelm you. Hey all so I am most likely going to be taking my third attempt next week and I just need some advice. So the last two exams I went back and changed answers and I’m wondering if especially the last time that messed me up. Should I not do that this time? Also my most recent score on RTBC practice exam was an 86. I want to try and get it a couple points higher before I take the exam next week. Is that a high enough score? My last attempt I scored a 73 and was getting like 80/81’s on my practice exams. A job has been waiting on me to pass this test but I don’t want to feel pressured to take it if I’m not ready yet but also I don’t think it’s a good idea to wait too much longer to take it aswell. Any advice would be appreciated!

I always say go with your gut and stick with your first answer. I never personally used RTBC so I can’t compare it to the registry first hand. You were so close last time! If you haven’t received the result letter yet to see where you need to improve I wouldn’t take your third attempt yet. Jobs are out there, don’t rush yourself just because one is waiting.

if you fail 3 times do you have to repay for the program again or do you just start all over again

I believe you would be responsible to pay for the entire program again but I am not sure what resources different schools have to support their students through that situation. Some schools will allow a student to audit a course (sit in on classes without being part of the program or receiving a grade) but there still may be fees associated with doing that.

From my knowledge there aren’t any shortcuts for this requirement but he can reach out to his program to see if they offer anything like that. He may also be able to sit for his GXMO certification which limits his ability as a tech but may be an option to keep him in the field.

The ARRT doesn’t have a definitive time frame that you have to wait before retaking the exam. As soon as your results are reviewed and submitted online you will have the opportunity to submit your “application” to retake it. It should only be a few weeks before this occurs and you’ll be able to schedule a new testing date.

Yes, the format of the test is multiple choice. You will always have the right answer in front of you but you have to select the correct one.

I have trouble understanding AEC, for example if you put the detector on a thin part what would happen will there be overexposure or underexposure? I saw a question like this on the exam and I said underexposed because the AEC system will stop exposing as soon as it feel like it has reach the IR so if it’s a thin part it will shut down faster so therefore it would be underexposed

@@valentinasanchez4191 It sounds like you actually do understand AEC fairly well. This would be like if you were using AEC for a T-spine and had the outer detectors selected instead of the middle. The x-rays would reach the IR quickly as they move through the lungs and trigger the AEC to terminate the exposure although the spine would not have received enough x-rays by that time. Thus resulting in the spine being underexposed.
