Great start mate,"I don't wanna die with a dk on my face". The ladies just crack up laughing.!! If ever Mr. Fobos wish to off load those knives, a couple of us can be tempted. They're great bushcraft/outdoors knives. All three of us including the ladies were in the army so it's a veteran thing mate. We have used Wicked Wax for retaining leather quality. Great show Jim. The Tier 1BC you have is a new version of the Tier 1. I don't believe the Tier 1 BC has been released yet, so I am jealous. I have several FOBOS knives, including the Alaris and Calcula and they are great knives. I hope your viewers take note of your impressions and show interest in FOBOS knives. The knives live up to the companies claims, which isn't always true in the knife world.

Yeah, unfortunately I was relying on older info from BladeHQ on the specs. But Erik did let me know that there were some differences, and sent me data sheets so that when I do the individual review, I’ll have the most accurate, up to date info. Thanks!

Honestly I have to say I don't know much about fobos. I've been collecting knives for awhile I'm a little wary about mil spec or tactical slapped on any product as far as I can remember milspec means to me made by the lowest bidder or crap product to gouge dod (ex military non combat). I like tried and true basic designs that are proven I'm pretty forgiving about using newer materials on older designs as long as they are proven as some knives are great but need updating (kabar in particular).

Always a little painful listening to a folding knife guy talk about fixed blades

The cutout in the blade just before the handle is a major design fail. Might look cool for some folks but it is weakening the blade where it matters the most.

I don’t think anyone is using a knife as the jaws of life to pry off body panels from a car, so it should be fine for what it’s designed for.
