Today we take a look at the ACE's Kindergarten manuals, resources and PACEs as well as how to order the kit and what comes in the Kindergarten kit. I also show a few of things our family does with the resources to work for our family.

I love the ACE curriculum! I wish I could get my 12 year old granddaughter to do the basic reading and phonics of the ACE curriculum so she could learn how to read. She is so frustrated with it that she won't even try. Her brother learned to read early since I helped to raise him and read him 10 books of his choice every night when he was 2-4.5 years old. His comprehension was off the charts because when I'd read a well loved story to him, I'd change the name of the character or various activities or adjectives in the story and he would know the story by heart so that he'd catch me and tell me the correct information. We had much fun doing story time every night. Reading is such a basic foundation to a child's education. I love how ACE prints out text with the phonetic symbols and grayscales letters that are silent. An excellent way to teach reading! Thank you for sharing your wonderful teaching system using the ACE curriculum, Andrea. I know you are in heaven but just to say how much I appreciate the blessings of these videos for us to use as reference to make excellent choices in homeschooling curriculum. God bless your precious family! (((Hugs!!)))

Hi Andrea! I am so, so glad I found you. I have five children ages 11 down to 3 years old. I found your channel a couple of months ago. I have been homeschooling for 6 years now and have used a lot of different curriculum and was struggling until a friend told me about ACE. I only have my 11, 10 and 8 year old on it. They love it! Yea! But I want to move my 6 year old over to it and my 3 year old. So, this Kindergarten video is very, very helpful. I am off to view the first grade one as well! Thank you so much for what you are doing!!

I love how you broke this down. We have done ACE Learning to read curriculum in the past. All my kids have done it. Our last child who will turn 5 this year has been a little bored and I thought I should get her a head start. I have never done the Kindergarten ACE curriculum. This will definitely prepare her for the following year. When I start her on the reading program! Very worth the money!! I love your editing skills! You're such a wonderful mama! Thank you for sharing this! God Bless!!!

Back in the late 90’s before my child started kindergarten at a public school, they tested the kids to see if they were ready to start. They had to print their name, cut things out with scissors, know the whole alphabet, etc.

So GREAT!!! Love your videos. Andrea.. love that you take your time, and go into great detail.. Good for you for informing others about A.C.E...very little info here on YT.. as you already know.. I was an A.C.E. student from 2nd - 9th Grade.. and loved it.. probably would have loved it a lot more if I could have homeschooled ^_^

Hey Andrea we both come from the ACE school setting, I first started teaching the kindergarten program at the school I was at, it was difficult because the children are not working independently but the work is done together so if someone is absent it throws everything off, but when I started homeschooling I found that manuals was over whelming, so now I do my own thing for kindergarten, and I start my kids on paces in 1st grade. Thanks for the videos, I hope to start my own channel in the very near further

I know; there is a lot of extraneous information in the manuals. I use my own little chart (I think I showed it in the video) that reminds me what we're doing each day and then I just skip to the parts I'm interested in. We don't do every single thing. Good luck with your channel! I'm excited to see more people making positive ACE videos!

Have truly enjoyed watching your videos and all the playlists on your channel!!! Did your husband use the DVD styler program to create/animate the number train? Would it be possible to give a brief demonstration of how to create video bulletins? For the letters I would just use Keynote on my mac and create different slides per letter and insert music. Just couldn't figure the train one out. :) Appreciate all that you do!

I am so glad, I'm found this video and thankful because it is help me to studying more about this curriculum. I have been using this Curriculum for 5 weeks.. and I have some questions and need more information. In the Manual Valume 1 that says about the book The Chistian Mother Goose Big Book, do you have any photo of that book? and do my child need to set her goal like in the level 1? and for the progress chart, do we need to make it with ourselve or we need to order and buy it? Appriciated for any answer. Blessing :)

Hi! I'm glad you're considering ACE. In Kindergarten, the manuals are an integral part of the curriculum. All of the stories and directions are in the manuals. I'm sure some things in the PACEs would be obvious without directions, but many things would be meaningless without the manuals. You could probably get away without the manuals in first grade though you would miss some aspects of the reading lessons. After the first 12 weeks of first grade, none of the work requires any sort of teacher's manuals, which is really nice.

Hi! Thank you for making all of these videos about ACE’s PACEs! I am almost positive this will be our curriculum of choice for our family. I have three kids so far; the oldest is almost 5. I’m torn on which curriculum to use for her. She knows all her letter sounds & can read a little. She doesn’t know sight words or long vowels yet. Would you recommend the Kindergarten with Ace & Christi or the ABCs with Ace & Christi? I am hesitant to do ACE until 1st or 2nd grade because there are so many subjects & I’m worried too much work may ruin the fun of school...I had planned on just teaching reading, writing, & math until 2nd grade or so.
@TheMillsFamilyVlog
@TheMillsFamilyVlog 6 жыл бұрын
If she knows her sounds and can read a little, you should go right to 1st Grade. Kindergarten is more like preschool. Social Studies and Science is mainly reading practice in 1st Grade so there's no reason you couldn't skip it and just do Math, English and Word Building. First Grade Animal Science is the pictures for the Animal Stories and Bible Reading is the pictures for the Bible stories. Those are also just optional.

Hi, these videos have helped a lot as ive been really confused as to where to start with my kids...5 and 3+. I was happy when I saw this question and your response. I want to find out if the first grade is also the same thing as ABC's with Ace and Christi... And also where do I start from for my 3 year old as he's never been to school. My other question is how do I get very cheap used and good ACE materials as we are on a very tight budget. Thank you so much.

It takes a couple of weeks to get the hang of ignoring the stuff that you can ignore. Somewhere in the first book there's a sheet that shows the lesson plan order for each day. You could copy that and highlight which things you want to do and train yourself to flip to those directions each day. I printed out my own version to hang up since I only do four days a week and I needed to remember where I was squeezing in extra lessons. I'll send you a picture on FB.

Hi Andrea, so I had already purchased other curriculum for kindergarten, but do you think it's a good idea to just my the cd and flash cards for my kindergartener so he can learn the markings on the letters so it doesn't confuse him next year when we start 1st grade abc's with ace and christi? thank you for your videos they are very helpful!
@TheMillsFamilyVlog
@TheMillsFamilyVlog 8 жыл бұрын
I think that would be great. If you use ACE for 1st grade, the animals are the same so it would be nice to feel like he's found his old friends. Plus, the markings are really helpful for them to learn the hard/soft and long/short sounds. It would be an easy thing to add in to what you are doing.

Do I need to use the manual's or do you think I would be ok with just using the PACE's? We're using the English and Word Building as supplements to another program.
@TheMillsFamilyVlog
@TheMillsFamilyVlog 6 жыл бұрын
In Kindergarten, all directions are in the manuals. Kindergarten Word Building is animal stories featuring that week's sound. There isn't any work to do in the W.B. PACEs; they're just the pictures that go along with the stories that you read from the manuals. If you use First Grade level English and Word Building, you could easily do it without the manuals, but in Kindergarten you definitely need them. I'm not sure how old your child is, but you can order this test to do to see which year your child is ready for: www.christianbook.com/abcs-reading-readiness-diagnostic-test/pd/225091?product_redirect=1&Ntt=225091&item_code=&Ntk=keywords&event=ESRCP
