Let’s talk about the BCG vaccination.
The BCG (Bacillus Calmette-Guérin) vaccine helps protect children against tuberculosis (TB). It is offered to all babies in Newham and in all other north east London boroughs is only recommended for babies at higher risk of getting tuberculosis (TB), including children who have a parent or grandparent from a country with high rates of TB.
Your health visitor, midwife, local hospital or health centre will be able to advise if it’s recommended that your baby have the BCG vaccine.
