At this juncture in the war learning nen would only be useful because now you can see nen attacks. What Karipika has done is give everyone a loaded gun in hopes to keep the peace but all it takes is one random shot and now he’s created a blood bath.

He doesn’t mean “compound” in terms of interest/value/power of the ability, he means “compound” in terms of the abilities. This usage of the word implies that the coin’s abilities can combine and synergize with other abilities. It also implies increasing complexity

I wonder if Zhang Lei will give Kurapika a coin as thanks for giving his input. Along with the nen contract in the earlier chapter, Kurapika is out here collecting new nen abilities like crazy. That actually makes him a neat foil to Chrollo, since Chrollo takes abilities by force while Kurapika earns abilities with the consent of the original users. Mostly, anyway. His steal chain breaks that a little bit.

Certain conditions. So more than one condition. Wait for 10 days or more, then reinsert. And if you take someone's coin, it'll go up. But also, if you turn in a coin with 100 on it, it's the best possible outcome to you, and the worst possible outcome to others. It could be a percentage. 10% chance to benefit? That would be a gamble. You're better off holding. And multiple holders may benefit together. So a bad guy can get one and benefit from the actions of the good, and vice versa.

There's a piece of me that thinks that Zang Lie already has some idea of what his beast already does. For all we know, his entire disposition may be because of his nen beast's ability. I could be wrong, but whenever we find out what it is, I suspect it will be quite diabolical. I'm wondering if the coins are just solely about money/value or something far more sinister. Very interesting overall.

@@Tomiwa101 his original philosophy is that you have to rule light with the dark. He doesn’t rely on religion or pure brute strength to rule just appeals to people’s self interest. I like the fact he listens to reason and can reflect on his short comings, which to me shows a high eq and iq. It’s too soon to see his other character flaws but so far I like what I see. He seems fair and hopefully he’s just.
