I’m a beginner and that is BY FAR the most clear and understandable explanation of those things I’ve yet seen. Thank you!!

I just switched out all of my finger grips with the Vise PowerLift/Semi .. I love the "Semi" side .. awesome grips. I got tired of having to tape my fingers all the time, so I fine tuned my sizes down so I have a pretty tight fit. They are a bit tight right now but will loosen a bit over time which means they should fit perfectly after a few more nights on the lanes. I am so glad I changed out my grips like I did. I ordered bulk Vise grips on Amazon and re-gripped all of my bowling balls.

What is the best way to remove them, and do you have to use like vise glue, or does any super glue work when you glue new ones in? Also what is the best way to clean the hole up once you remove the old ones?
@quinnbostic

I use a flat head screwdriver to remove them, then clean the hole with a knife. I just use super glue

At least the way we do it in the shop, there is a tool to remove grips that Innovative Bowling Products makes. However those are pretty pricey. Some sort of pocket knife or screwdriver could work to be a money saver. In terms of the glue, we use Vise glue in the shop but any super glue could work. Only thing to be concerned with is the Vise glue does dry a lot quicker compared to most super glues

I have felt the most secure fit with the Turbo Quad mesh fingertip inserts. They are the only ones that feel like my fingers aren't going to slip out of them. I get cold hands a lot which makes my fingers shrink. That said, I am still one who shoves my fingers almost beyond the first knuckle into them. Unfortunately, the pro shop I am getting new balls drilled at soon says that they only use Vise. I've had Vise grips nearly a decade ago, and they became hard and slippery. What would you recommend in the Vise line that might work similarly since they don't have any of the ones with bumps inside?

Thanks guys very informative. My question to you is is there a difference between Vise and Turbo as to which are softer? Thanks.
@andrewjensen3831
@andrewjensen3831 Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late response. Turbo is a half size different in comparison. I’ve used both and I feel they are both fairly similar in softness. Maybe vise is a touch softer. But not by much in my opinion.

Do people size down on their finger inserts when they are going for a "vacuum" install? I use conventional 31/32 sizing and I don't really imagine my insert size creating any "vacuum" on my fingertips -- they just aren't quite that tight.
@andrewjensen8609
@andrewjensen8609 Жыл бұрын
That’s mainly coming down to what you’re comfortable with. The general recommendation would be going a full size down from your normal grip. However for Justin, he’s using the same sized grips that he was using in regular grips. You can always play around with sizing. If your pro shop has the vacu grip sizing tool, that’s the best way to experiment with sizing or just switching grips in drilled balls

Hello, I am a player who does not use finger grips, but at my pro shop they told me that they do not recommend them because the bridge between the fingers breaks and damages the ball. Is this true?

If my grip hoie is already 1 1/16". To Vacu l would have to drill a 1 1/8 hole first?
@andrewjensen8609
@andrewjensen8609 Жыл бұрын
Not 100% sure why you’d be using 1 1/16 for your grip hole since the grips are made to be in 31/32 holes or 1 1/32. But if that’s comfortable for you, by all means continue that. Yes, 1 1/8 would be what we recommend for your vacu hole but it can always be played around with for your comfort

Have you seen difference in tilt or access rotation between the different types of products ?
@andrewjensen8609
@andrewjensen8609 Жыл бұрын
In terms of axis tilt or axis rotation, not really. In terms of overall “rotation” or RPM, power lifts will help you gain a little and same with Vacu. However, we recommend what you’re most comfortable with and lets you be at your best game possible!
@andrewjensen3831

If you were an oval or none grip person before and went to Power Lifts or Vacu Grip, I’d think you should see a change in those but the most change would be a pitch change and even a possible span change with the pitch change. Then you would see a difference for sure. Sorry for the late response. Hope that helps.

So which size works best 1/ 64th or 1/32nd for the first bit?
@andrewjensen3831
@andrewjensen3831 8 ай бұрын
It depends on what you’re trying to accomplish. If you are doing vacu grips and use 31/32 size grips. Then you want the hole size up top to be 1 1/32. If you are using 7/8 grip size. Then I’ve found that a 15/16 bit works best up top. Hope this helps you with your question.

Hard to say without really seeing your ball and hand. There are some cases where this does happen and it’s not wrong or a bad concept. If you’re really concerned, we’d recommend talking to your pro shop operator about it. Worst case scenario, you talk with a different pro shop for a second opinion

Never had an issue with finger swelling or thumb swelling been competitively bowling for over 20 years with some tournaments doing 40 games in a weekend. If you are swelling in the grips I would think it's because you are putting a death grip on the ball.
