Nice looking new mat! I have 2 of these and 1 smaller one - and they are so dirty looking!!! For the initial start of heat loving plants using the heat mat was a game changer for me as well.

i just bought that heat pad, it isnt too warm, slightly warm, doesn't seem itll warm anything, put it against my skin, just slightly warm?

Really helpfull information!! Thank you so much for sharing! 'm about to buy one, with quite expensive postal fees and taxes to my country, from amazon. BUT I'm thinking of the thermostat thing. Despite the temperature settings, if the heatmat runs all time long. Wouldn't that raise the costs to the electricity bill????

These use very little power and you want them to stay around that 80-degree mark as soon as your seeds germinate you take them off the mats. Do you have local gardening stores? You can probably find one there but typically more expensive.

I'm abouth to grow dahlias from cuttings this year and the process takes quite a long... aprox. 2-3 months on heat for the amount of cuttings... it's not just seed starting... that's why I m thinking of a thermostat and the costs of the mat...

It is about 80 degrees give or take a degree.

I bought a mat similar to this and it doesn't feel warm to the touch. Anyone else experienced this?

When you touch them they feel warm if yours doesn't I would return if it is new.
