Hi guys I recently bought a VE with the LF1 engine. On hot idle I have a P0172 code and fuel trim is -30% on bank 2 -10% on bank 1. I have read the HPFP leaking into the oil could be the culprit but I’m hoping it may just be this purge valve? What do you think, cheers.

The purge solenoid for the VE commodore looks almost exactly the same as the VZ solenoid but the VZ one is like $70 on eBay while I have found the VE one for like $22. Is there actually a difference in the 2 or are VZ owners just being had? lol

Be careful on eBay. Genuine for $22 = not genuine and a Chinese copy. Most of them don’t work and throw a P0422 code. Watch this video to see what they look like. To answer your question VE can be used on VZ.

@@REVHIGHTUNINGSOLUTIONS All the $22ish ones on ebay are for the VE V6 and range from $16-27 but the VZ ones that honestly look almost identical are 3x that price for some reason, that's confusing since the motors are like 99% the same lol A genuine AC Delco part is around $80 for the VE and the VZ, these prices are confusing as hell because AC Delco is/was in hot water about their parts being made in China and not in the US as claimed by GM. So if the $22 part is technically the same as the $80 one and they're all made in the same place. why not go with the cheap one lol

@@Alpha-Shen Understand, but they are 100% Bosch, we don't recommend the clones due to issues we had here with a few customers.

Usually this is a torque converter issue, needs repaired or a new one.

I've got a lfx vf sv6 and I'm not able to blow thru the evap solenoid when taken off car will that mean it's dead. As I'm getting a miss on light acceleration already changed plugs and coils got no codes whatsoever

If you can't breathe through it, it means it's working. But if its ticking really bad I'd be looking at swapping it anyway.

I have an unusual problem with my ly7 in my adventra, wondering if purge solenoid could have anything to do with it. Only when I fill the tank,I won't start till the third go runs rough and really low revs until I get it to rev ,once this happens it runs fine. 1st time just turns over won't start 2nd time just turns over won't start 3rd time struggles to start, idle low bit rough, gently give it some throttle, it sputters slightly and then clears up,no problems till next time you fill the tank Do you think it could be purge solenoid? I feel like it's getting way to much fuel and it takes a couple of goes to clear its throat so to speak, would the solenoid let fuel leak into manifold? It also idles a bit high all the time for the first 5min when you start it,until i presume the computer steps in and lowers it to about 600-700 rpm

Hi Steve, Purge is the first thing we would recommend replacing. Also check and repalce your fuel cap.
